A new introduction at Sabi Sabi is a range of superb house wines. After much tasting, debate and comparison, a selection from the Stellenrust Estates, complete with innovative Sabi Sabi label, was chosen to carry the Sabi Sabi name.

While Earth Lodge has the most impressive and celebrated wine collection – over 6000 bottles housed in the coolth of its beautiful underground cellar – Bush Lodge, Selati Camp and Little Bush Camp also boast exceptional wine lists. Thanda Game Reserve, KwaZulu-Natal/South Africa

The Thanda Game Reserve in South Africa has taken the tented camp’s reputation of ‘rugged yet refined’ to a new level of luxury and comfort with the launch of Africa’s most romantic safari tent, The Honeymoon Tent, which is a beautiful addition tailored especially for honeymooners and wedding couples. The Honeymoon Tent features a king-sized bed in a spacious bedroom, and a comfortable separate lounge area for relaxation. The honeymoon tent is air conditioned and has an outdoor shower and Jacuzzi.

The four existing tents have undergone a soft refurbishment and had their structures reinforced. A fifth tent has been added to the camp to meet guest demand. The new fifth tent features a king-sized bed, a fan and outdoor shower. Both of the new tents have been equipped with baths.

Thanda’s once non-electrified tented camp has now been equipped with a generator which will power the luxury tents for a few hours each day. Guests will now be able to charge cameras and phones in the privacy of their tents.

The magnificent Sanctuary Chief’s Camp in Botswana has received a coveted “World’s Best” award from Travel + Leisure as one of the top resorts and camps in Africa and the number one safari lodge in Botswana.

Condé Nast Traveler has included a feature on the Lion Sands Chalkley Treehouse in its August 2010 edition

LION SANDS CHALKLEY TREEHOUSE, Kruger National Park (South Africa)

The Lion Sands Chalkley Treehouse is a 10 minute drive from Lion Sands Ivory Lodge and Lion Sands River Lodge, and is completely secluded and private.
The Field ranger does not stay at the Treehouse. Once guests are dropped off, they are completely on their own.
Guests are dropped off at the Treehouse either before sunset or after dinner at the lodge. They may therefore decide if they wish to forego the evening game drive by going to the Treehouse at sunset.
The Lodge will provide a private dinner hamper if they choose to be dropped off at sunset.
The Treehouse has a fixed queen sized canopy bed, and is warm enough in Winter (May to August).
Guests will be given a hand-held radio to communicate with the lodge, so in the event of them wishing to return to the lodge this can easily be arranged.
There are ablution facilities at the Treehouse.
This activity is weather dependant. Should it rain, we will try to reschedule the booking. It is therefore preferable that the guests pay direct at the lodge on departure.
If you have a client interested in the experience, please add this to your reservation enquiry as we offer these guests the first right of refusal on the day. This is also essential to avoid disappointment, as we only have one Treehouse and it has become a very popular experience at Lion Sands.

The guests retain their room for this night and cannot book the Treehouse only when coming to Lion Sands as it is an additional activity to staying at either of the Lion Sands lodges.
The cost is ZAR 2,200.00 per night for 1 or 2 guests – a supplement to the normal accommodation rates which is added to the guests bill on departure.
