The Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge is a five star game lodge located at a prime site in the west of the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa's North West Province. The inception of this luxurious game lodge has an exceptionally inspiring story to it in terms of local community upliftment, outstanding management and of course, magnificent location and lavish accommodation.
Offering a very private experience, the Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge provides eight uniquely decorated suites, each with their own deck, which provides guests with beautiful views over the African bushveld. This lodge has been carefully designed to blend with the beauty of the natural surrounds. Decorated in natural hews of colour and texture, the thatched suites provide sliding doors from each room and showers which allow guests to fully experience the concept of complete integration with the bushveld.
Activities, which are offered to guests staying at the Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge, are amongst others open vehicle game drives, bush walks, tracking, stargazing, bush dining, and birding. The Big Five, malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve is home to a tremendous diversity of fauna and flora. This exclusive game lodge is a superb walking and open vehicle safari destination where guests are accompanied by professional and knowledgeable game rangers who are able to interpret the many encounters whilst on safari.
The Madikwe Game Reserve is home to the lion, elephant, black and white rhino, buffalo, leopard, cheetah and the wild dog. Giraffes, zebras, warthogs, baboons, monkeys, hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of antelope including kudu, impala, waterbuck, Springbok, Wildebeest, Eland, Blesbok, Tsessebe and Steenbok can be seen on the safaris through the untamed African bushveld. This reserve also provides a bird population of over 250 different species.
Daily scheduled flights are operated from Johannesburg International Airport / OR Tambo to the Madikwe Airstrip from where transfers are offered to the Lodge.
