Game Drives at the Chandelier Game Lodge
The Chandelier Farm is home to a large population of antelope, 23 species in total. Lucky visitors may spot the elusive black backed jackal or even catch a glimpse of the rare, indigenous leopard. Chandelier comprises 3500 ha of succulent Karoo, river bush veldt and Cape "fynbos". The 122km of "land rover tracks" make game viewing safaris on the Chandelier Safari Ranch an unforgettable experience, creating timeless memories. Large numbers of game, such as Sable Antelope, Lechwe, Waterbuck, Bontebok and Kudu are free roaming the rolling hills. Even giraffes can be observed from the comfort of the land rovers.
Animal Touch Farm
The famous star at the Chandelier Safari Farm is Kwagga, the Zebra foal. He has been hand raised, after his mother fell ill. Kwagga has been on local television and on the front pages of many magazines, lately. The lodge also has a young Springbuck, three Eland calves, an oryx gazelle, Shetland ponies and horses entertaining the guests. All these animals, as well as the ostriches at Chandelier are tame and always willing to pose for photographs. None of the "tamed animals" on the Chandelier Farm are in captivity or in small pens. They are all free to go and to roam the 3500ha Klein Karoo veldt.

The Chandelier Game Lodge & Ostrich Show Farm is situated between the popular Garden Route and the wide-open spaces of the Klein Karoo in South Africa. The Lodge has the magnificent Outeniqua- and Swartberg mountain ranges as a backdrop. The Chandelier Game Lodge & Ostrich Farm is easily accessible from the N12 (Route 62), and provides an ideal base from which to explore the many sights the Garden Route has to offer. The Chandelier Game Lodge is located 7 km outside of Oudtshoorn and 48 km from George and the George Airport.
Accommodation at the Chandelier Game Lodge
A unique feature of the Chandelier Game Lodge are the luxury en suite tented rooms. These tented chalets offer a unique bush experience. The chalets are built on wooden decks in the bush and great care has been taken to provide privacy and beautiful views.
Each tented chalet at the Chandelier Game Lodge features a private observation deck from where guests can spot various game species on their way to the water hole. The lodge can accommodated a maximum of 16 guests in eight private chalets all of which are equipped with white linen and velvet, as well as corner or spa baths and air conditioning or fans. The stylish décor of the tented chalets create luxury under the canopy of the acacia trees. The showers which only have the stars as a roof, are a unique experience on their own. Children are welcome at the Chandelier Game Lodge & Ostrich Farm and up to two small kids may share the tented chalet with their parents.

Ostrich Tours & Riding at the Chandelier Farm
Nowhere else in the world has the ostrich been more important than in the Klein Karoo. Starting from a fledgling industry in the 1870's, Oudtshoorn soon became the ostrich capital of the world. The Chandelier Game Lodge & Ostrich Show Farm is the closest ostrich show farm to Oudtshoorn (7 km) and George (48km), and therefore played an important role in the development of the ostrich industry more than 130 years ago. Ostriches are one of the most fascinating attractions in South Africa, therefore the Ostrich Show Farm provides a memorable and educational tour. The ostrich tours are conducted on open land rovers at the Chandelier Farm providing a memorable experience.
The Chandelier Game Lodge & Ostrich Show Farm is the only ostrich show farm in South Africa where guests can stay in luxury en suite tented chalets located within walking distance from these amazing birds. Guests have the opportunity to participate in the daily activities on the working ostrich show farm, like feather clipping etc. Ostrich riding is also available for the brave, while the professional jockeys at Chandelier compete in the famous Chandelier ostrich race.
