The Delta Camp is beautifully located on the South Western edge of Chief's Island in the heart of the Okavango Delta in Botswana, Southern Africa. This wilderness camp nestles in the forest of a large, wonderful and palm-studded island. It is predominantly a water camp where walks on Islands are available.
The Okavango Delta in Botswana with its crystal-clear channels, lagoons, sweeping floodplains and countless islands, is home to over 450 bird species, a spectacular array of plant species and a lot of African game. The Okavango Delta in Botswana has therefore earned its reputation as one of the world's premier wilderness areas.
Dining at the Delta Lodge, Botswana
Guests staying at the Delta Camp dine in the elegant Dining Room overlooking the Delta with its surrounding flood-plains and the wildlife. Another option is to take a beautifully prepared picnic onto one of the many nearby islands for a secluded experience.
The choice of fresh vegetables, cheeses, excellent meats and fine wines flown in daily and lovingly prepared, maintain the camp's enviable reputation for cuisine.
Accommodation
The Delta Lodge in Botswana can accommodate 16 guests in spacious reed chalets with en-suite facilities. Built of natural materials and elevated off the forest floor, each chalet features hot and cold running water, a shower with a view, and solar-powered electric lighting.
The remarkable design of the Chalets at the Delta Camp is such that guests enjoy the luxuries of an exclusive hotel, but without negatively impacting the environment. Guests will find themselves sharing their chalet with the trees, while taking full advantage of the views of the surrounding bush and flood-plains.
The Delta Camp is one of a few establishments that accommodate children and thus families are most welcome to stay at this lodge.
The Delta Lodge can accommodate 14 guests in:
- 7 Standard chalets (shower, WC, basin)
- 1 pilot/ guides tent.
Activities
Guests at the Delta Camp in the Okavango can enjoy many different activities, which are offered such as dug-out canoe safaris, walking on some of the many islands in the area, taking in the magnificent scenery and light, and the abundant game as well as bird watching.

Access to the Delta Camp in Botswana
The only access to the Delta Camp in Botswana is by charter flight which takes about 20 minuted from Maun.
Self-drive is possible to Maun where secure parking is available, from where guests need to charter to the Delta Camp.
