Jaci's Lodges offers a specialized children's safari programme
Jaci's Safari Lodge has only seven rooms, the Safari Suite and the exclusive 2 bed-roomed Nare Suite. All the rooms and the Nare Suite are built using shaggy thatched roofs and canvas walls to create a "tented" feel. Each room has and open plan bathroom with a hand built "rock" bath and outdoor "safari" shower. A private wooden viewing deck at the entrance overlooks a small stream where animals and birds come to drink.
The Main Lodge at Jaci's is curved around an ancient Termite mound and includes a spacious lounge, open plan kitchen/dining room, and curio shop and upstairs bar. Enjoy meals in our enclosed boma or under the stars at a bush braai after the excitement of a days exceptional game viewing.
Jaci's Safari Lodge - Nare Suite is an exclusive "bush retreat"- so named because of the resident Buffalo Bull who frequents the waterhole in front of the Suite (along with the numerous other animal visitors) - accommodating a maximum of 4 guests in bush luxury and privacy. The Nare Suite bedrooms each have open plan bathrooms, with a hand made "rock" bath and outdoor "safari" shower. A wooden viewing deck overlooks a fabulous water hole and encompasses a private swimming pool. The lounge and outdoor dining area, is equipped with a self contained kitchen - where our chefs can prepare meals for you in the luxury of your own retreat - should you so desire. Equipped with a private game vehicle and professional guide guests are assured of a bush breakaway to be remembered and repeated.
Jaci's Safari Lodge - Safari Suite beautifully positioned overlooking the Marico River the Safari Suite is prefect for families with older children. The children are accommodated in a loft room upstairs and downstairs a living room leads onto the main bedroom both overlooking the private plunge pool and the River. A separate bathroom has a wonderful bath and features an outdoor shower under a giant tambotie tree. With Jaci's trademark shaggy thatch roof's and sliding doors opening to the magnificent views you can enjoy the privacy afforded by the Safari Suite. We recommend children no younger than 6yrs in the Suite as there are stairs leading up to the loft room, the outside deck area does not have a railing and the pool is unprotected.
Jaci's Tree Lodge has only Eight "Tree Houses", each encompasses a giant Tamboetie or Leadwood Tree. Each "Tree House" is constructed amongst the Riverine forest on stilts, up to 4 meters from the ground. In these spacious "Tree Houses" - built utilizing a combination of rosewood, thatch and stacking doors - the forest surrounds are invited in, to compliment your stay at Jaci's. An open plan, en-suite bathroom with an enormous stone bath and outdoor "Jungle Shower" allow you to enjoy your forest surrounds. Relax, on the deck in front of your room, in the main lodge or wander to the forest pool to cool off.
Raised wooden walkways, suspended in the forest canopy lining the banks of the Marico River, will connect with the extraordinary Main Lodge and its generous facilities.
Children of all ages are very welcome at Jaci's. Children aged 10 and under sharing with their parents qualify for a special Kiddies rate, which includes child minders and the "jungle drive". Children aged 8 - 10 are allowed on the adults drive and will be given dinner in the dining room on their return from the evening drive. The little ones 0 - 7 are taken on a separate "jungle drive" during the day - this is anything from 1/2 an hour to an hour and a half depending on the interest levels of the kiddies on the drive. Parents are welcome to come along. Child minders look after the children while you are on morning and evening game drives and dinner will be served @ 18.00 in the dining room for the little ones.
Jaci's Lodges are now offering a Specialized Children's Safari programme for children. This is offered as an optional extra over and above the Jungle drive - it is more detailed and offers a wider bush experience - each drive is a fun filled, educational 3 hours. There will be an additional charge per child per safari - this is an optional extra and may be booked at the Lodge as required. This programme will be available to children aged 3 - 10 yrs and will be facilitated by a professional guide. Activities will include bush craft, inspector and detective trails, animal tracking, birds of a feather, touch tables, game drives and walks.
