Children of all ages are welcome at the River Bend Lodge and may join their parents on the game drives. The Lodge also has a playroom with educational toys, slide and a sandpit. A variety of DVD's can be viewed in your suite or video's in the playroom. The Lodge features two family units which consists of two luxury suites with an interleading door. Both suites are the same and each have their own bathroom (with bath & shower), private verandah, TV, mini bar, telephone etc. Cots, high-chairs, kiddies menu's & babysitters are available.
Children under 3yrs stay free of charge and under 12yrs qualify for the children's rate.
River Bend Country Lodge: Children's Activities
At River Bend, they have a playroom full of educational toys and games for kids all ages, as well as a swimming pool and sandpit.

• BEAUTY TREATMENTS -Girls - Mini facials, manicures or pedicures
• BUG HUNTING - Teams or individuals scouting for different species of bugs to put in their bug containers
with a ranger to teach them about the insects
• GUIDED WALKS - (When a ranger is available.) Learning about animals, tracking, birding & vegetation.
Identifying animals, birds, tracks and trees.
• TRIP TO BREEDING PENS - Learning about the importance of breeding projects and having the chance to
see the animals up close.
• PICNIC IN THE BUSH - A fun picnic out-side, perhaps at the bird-hide?
• KITE-MAKING -Boys - Making of kites in the meeting room
• FLOWER PRESSING - Girls - Picking flowers in the garden and pressing them as a keepsake of their River
Bend stay.
• KIDS' NIGHT DRIVE - Night drive to go look for nocturnal animals, while parents have dinner
• POOL GAMES - Supervised fun & games at the pool (weather permitting)
• MAKING PLAY-DOUGH
• GARDENING - Boys - Preparing soil for the garden or pot plants. Planting seeds in cotton wool and
watching them grow.
• SHOW & TELL - Collecting leaves, barks, bones, insects etc. and presenting them to the other children.
• STORY TELLING - Range of stories on hand for little ones to have read to them or for the older kids to
read. Kids can also write stories or make poems.
• MAKING PRESENTS - Making necklaces, clay photo frames, painting plates / boxes, making X-mas tree
decorations, pot plant sticks etc.

Family Luxury Suites with interleading doors are available at River Bend Lodge on request. Children's rates applicable to children under the age of 12 years, Children under 3 years, sharing with parents stay at no extra charge (max 1 child), Babysitters, cots, high chairs, playroom, sandpit, fenced swimming pool, kids menus & DVD's available. Children of all ages welcome on game drives and where possible families will be allocated a private vehicle.
