Children's Programme at Mark's Camp, Lalibela Game Reserve
In the early morning the children join the kids program so that parents can depart for their morning game drive. Breakfast is served and then it is time for the activities of the morning starting with a short game drive with their own game ranger and in their own special game viewing vehicle.
The middle of the day makes time for the family to spend together.
Before the adults participate on their afternoon game drive, high tea is served for both adults and children. After heading out on their afternoon game drive, the children return to the lodge for an early dinner before relaxing around the fire and enjoying a bedtime story before settling in for the night.
Wildlife at the Lalibela Game Reserve, Eastern Cape
The game drives at the Lalibela Game Reserve are conducted in an open vehicle accompanied by an experienced game ranger. Many game species, ranging from elephant, lion, rhino and buffalo to the tiny blue duiker and rock hyrax can be observed at this malaria free, 'Big Five' game reserve in the Eastern Cape. Lalibela is also home to cheetah, hyena, hippo, giraffe, zebra, warthog and numerous species of antelope, such as eland, kudu, bushbuck and wildebeest. On thrilling night drives under the African sky, rangers search for the elusive bat-eared fox, aardvark, black-backed jackal, aardwolf and the curious spring hare.
Lalibela comprises 7,500 hectares of valley bushveld, savannah grassland, fynbos, riverine forest and acacia woodland. There are no public roads running through the property and all the animals, including the predators, roam freely throughout the entire reserve.

The Lalibela Game Reserve is situated in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. It is set in 7500 hectares and is home to Africa's 'Big Five'. The Lalibela Game Reserve comprises 3 lodges, which are Tree Tops, Lentaba and Marks Camp. The Lalibela Game Reserve provides for a wonderful safari getaway for families as exciting childrens programs are offered.
The Lalibela Game Reserve is located on Sidbury Hills in South Africa's Eastern Cape Province. One can find this reserve east of the Addo Elephant National Park, 90 km (1 hour) away from Port Elizabeth on the N2 in the direction of Grahamstown.
The reception is located 200 meters from the main gate. Facilities at this game lodge include a lounge, bar, curio shop, bathrooms, covered outdoor dining as well as secure parking. Guests staying at the Lalibela Game Reserve are transferred from Reception to their lodge by land rover. The lodges at Lalibela are graded 4 star superior by the South African Grading Council.
No public roads pass through the Lalibela Game Reserve and all predators are free-roaming throughout the whole Reserve. The number of total beds available at the Lalibela Game Reserve are: 44 beds + 8 beds for children.

There are 3 game lodges at Lalibela (Lentaba Lodge, Mark's Camp and Tree Tops) each of which has its own unique character. At all three lodges, secluded thatched chalets are placed where magnificent indigenous gardens merge into the surrounding bush. Each en-suite room features a private observation deck to make the most of the views. The lodges at Lalibela also boast a large lounge, viewing deck and a sunny swimming pool.
The outdoor dining 'boma' which is used for fireside dinners and open-air brunches, as well as stylish indoor dining areas make for unforgettable dining experiences.
Lentaba Lodge at the Lalibela Game Reserve, Eastern Cape (South Africa)
Lentaba, the "lodge on the hillside", can accommodate 16 guests in eight secluded thatched chalets. Each en-suite unit features a private observation deck to make the most of the views over the valley bushveld. Each chalet has air-conditioning as well as a ceiling fan.
The main lodge at Lentaba is decorated in a traditional safari style and boasts a large lounge, viewing deck and a sunny swimming pool where guests are invited to spend a lazy afternoon.
The outdoor dining "boma" provides a magnificent view of a waterhole, which is spotlit after dark for night game viewing. There is also a stylish indoor dining area. Brunch is served al fresco on the main viewing deck.

Mark's Camp at the Lalibela Game Reserve, Eastern Cape (South Africa)
The stone and thatch chalets as well as the main lodge at Lalibela's Mark's Camp are decorated in a relaxed Pan-African style. This lodge sleeps up to 20 guests in four individual chalets and four family chalets. Each comfortably furnished chalet features an en-suite bathroom and air-conditioning for those warm summer nights. The chalets open up onto a private deck with views over the surrounding bush.
Between game drives, guests can relax in the large lounge, bird watch from the viewing decks or laze around the swimming pool. Mark's Camp provides an outdoor dining "boma" for fireside dinners and open-air brunches, as well as a gracious indoor dining area.
Mark's Camp is perfect for families travelling with young children. The 3 family rooms & 1 family suite can sleep up to 10 adults and 8 children.

The Family Rooms at the Mark's Camp, Lalibela Game Reserve, are very similar to the standard rooms and provide all the facilities of the standard rooms. They have a bath and shower and the children's sleeping area is divided from the main room by a lattice partition. Baby cots are available on request.
Tree Tops Tented Camp at the Lalibela Game Reserve, Eastern Cape (South Africa)
The Tree Tops camp at the Lalibela Game Reserve differs from the other lodges as this is a tented camp. The luxury safari tents at Tree Tops perch high on thatched platforms and are joined by raised walkways offering spectacular views over the thickly-wooded valley. The rooms, with their canvas walls and thatched roofs have huge window areas and give guests the feeling of being right in the bush. Each air-conditioned room has a private veranda where guests can sit and relax in privacy.
The Tree Tops lodge provides a large lounge and open-air dining deck with a view over a small waterhole. Guests can sun bathe around the swimming pool or relax in the shaded gazebo.
Special care and consideration was taken during the construction of Tree Tops lodge to minimise the impact on the pristine vegetation in the valley. Tree Tops sleeps 10 people in 5 rooms.
