The Desert Quiver lodge private nature reserve, you can enjoy a relaxing late afternoon drive through the reserve, admiring the stunning Sossusvlei in Namibia.

The inspiring scenery characterised by rocky ridges, dramatic views and wandering wildlife will captivate your senses. Each one of the 24 free-standing bungalows designed with a modern twist, blending into its natural surroundings with ease. 

When sharing a room with two full paying adults, two small children can be accommodated on a fold-out sleeper couch that is in each bungalow. To ensure that preparations are made, please inquire with your booking.

The Desert Quiver Camp veranda has a fitted kitchenette with a wash-up area, a bar fridge, a two-plate hob and a wooden bench for seating. Uniquely, each bungalow has a “utility box”.

These boxes are filled with all of the necessary utensils for your self-catering stay. You can also order fresh at reception daily to accommodate all of your needs.

Desert Quiver Handicapped folk have two disabled and wheelchair friendly bungalows that are near to the main building. These rooms have no steps, with enlarged showers with sturdy handles for ease and accessibility.

To make your stay comfortable and to make sure you spend the least amount of effort, there is also a housekeeping service you just need to notify reception.

On the edge of the granite boulder, behind the camp is a pool that has the perfect views of the dunes. The pool is the focal point of the camp, is the ideal place to laze on a sun lounger while soaking up the awe-inspiring views of the dunes. With pool towels available at reception, you are entirely ready to enjoy your time in the sun.

After an eventful day on the dunes, there’s nothing better than having a sundowner or and cold beer at the fully stocked bar. Located on the edge of the granite outcrops, sitting at our bar while watching the incredible sunset is the perfect way to end your day.

With warm fire pits, you can stay cosy while watching the news or a sporting event on our big screen television, located in the  Desert Quiver bar.

The self-catering, Desert Quiver camp can offer the following services to make your vacation as convenient as possible. Each bungalow has a “utility box”, which contains cooking and eating utensils that will keep you equipped during your stay. Fresh food supplies for your self-catering holiday can be acquired easily by ordering them daily at reception.

Two self-catering communal outdoor cooking and washing up facilities, which can be booked by reservation. For those who wish to relax on their holiday, all meals can be cooked at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge.

Desert Quiver is known for their incredible cuisine and praised especially their delicious buffet dining experience. The restaurant has the most majestic views over Elim Dune and the waterhole where you can see the passing parade of animals while enjoying your food and excellent wines.

A buffet breakfast with a wide array of all of the breakfast foods and treats is offered in the morning. For lunch, you can choose to order from the a la carte menu or be spoiled by the chef for one of their tasty meals of the day.

Lodge Desert Quiver Camp buffet dinner is known for their extensive range of salads, stir-fries, side dishes and grilled meats, all of which the chef prepares in front of you. End the meal; there is a superb selection of confectionaries to choose from and numerous of cheeses and biscuits. A 3 PM afternoon tea is offered with a variety of confectionaries served with their freshly made coffee and tea.

  • Helicopter Flights: With tailored made trips for photographers and a wide array of thrilling flips, this is the ideal way to discover the beauty of the Namib Desert with a spectacular aerial view.
  • Scenic Flights: With a bird’s eye view from a 6-seater Cessna 210 Light Aircraft from Desert Air, you can experience a diverse range of routes to take in the real depth of Sossusvlei. From seeing the forbidden coast or shipwrecks along the coastal line, this incredible outing is not to be forgotten.
  • Hot Air Balloon: One of the most exciting ways to experience the majesty of the Namib is by taking a hot air balloon ride. Floating high in the sky is an experience unlike any other with the views of Sossusvlei insight.
