Kambaku Safari Lodge

★ ★ ★ ★

Experienced Kambaku Safari Lodge guides offer a wealth of information on all aspects of the local Timbavati fauna and flora during the thrilling early morning and late afternoon & evening safari drives.

The lodge nestles within Timbavati Reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park region of South Africa. The eight thatched Kambaku Safari Lodge chalets accommodate a maximum of sixteen guests only.

The cottages are made up of different room types ranging from the romantic honeymoon suite, the spacious family suites to double and twin rooms. The honeymoon suite provides additional privacy as well as a touch of something a little out of the ordinary.

Comfortable beds which offer classically draped mosquito nets are in every chalet. The chalets have lanterns for the evenings. Although electricity is at a minimum, there are 220V power points which are an Eco-friendly solar charged battery system.

Cooling overhead fans in the chalets provide comfort during the warm summer months. Each cottage features its private viewing deck where guests are invited to relax while admiring the wildlife at the waterhole.

The Kambaku main lodge features a welcoming balance between open plan and private space. The favourite bar and lounge area lead to the mezzanine floor where guests are welcome to relax in the small library. Opening out from here, one can find a viewing deck overlooking the waterhole and the scenic landscape beyond.

The main lodge features a soaring thatch roof which catches the refreshing breeze in summer and creates a lovely feeling openness. The large fireplace which can be found in the lounge adds to the warmth and relaxed ambience during the winter evenings. The furnishings are cosy and comfortable, inviting guests to relax and unwind in the tranquillity of the African bushveld.

Guest requests are accommodated with set eating times, and particular types of children meals. If possible, the lodge tries to place families with young children in a separate vehicle due to the flexibility needed. A babysitting service is also on offer to Kambaku guests.
