Klaserie River Safari Lodge is in a private reserve opposite the gate to the Thornybush Game Reserve, this safari lodge enjoys a prime wildlife location directly on the banks of the Klaserie River.

The town of Hoedspruit is only 20 min away from the camp, and the Eastgate Airport near Hoedspruit is just 15 min away, making this safari destination easily accessible.

Staying at Safari Lodge on the Klaserie River provides guests with direct access to the Kruger National Park, the Blyde River Canyon and the magnificent Panorama Route itself with its scenic places and attractions. 

The thatched, riverfront chalets offer privacy amidst the bushveld overlooking the waters which are lined with lush reeds and tall riverine trees. The exciting safaris are conducted in the "Big Five" Thornybush Game Reserve during which guests enjoy a stop during sunset. The adventurous bush walks are offered on the lodge's private property itself.

The lodge 11 chalets are beautifully situated along the Klaserie River. The rooms of the thatched cottages provide shaded wooden decks with comfortable chairs and a table containing a perfect spot to enjoy the surrounding wildlife. The water-loving wildlife pays visits to the papyrus-lined waterways in front of guest rooms.

The chalet's large glass windows provide for great river views. Designed for families travelling with children, two of the cottages share a door which allows the rooms to be inter-leading. Complete with air conditioning, ceiling fans and elegantly draped mosquito nets, these en-suite chalets offer a comfortable and welcoming space for guests to relax and enjoy the bushveld.

The Reserve features two main areas, namely the Top Lodge and the River Camp. These two camps are set about a five-minute bush walk away from each other. Each of the camps features an outdoor swimming pool, its dining area, a kitchen, and a bar. The swimming pools, as well as the bar and boma area, are located close to the chalets for guests to move effortlessly throughout the camp. There is no fence to separate the reserve's wildlife from the lodge.

With no fence throughout the camp, there is a variety of plains game frequenting the lodge's waterhole. Elephants sometimes come for a visit from the neighbouring Thornybush Game Reserve, and leopards, as well as hyenas, can be heard and seen at night.

Besides the guided safari drives through the Thornybush Game Reserve and the exciting walking safaris, guests also enjoy other businesses in the surrounding area which include Hot Air Ballooning and boat cruises.

The itineraries during a stay at the Lodge change depending on the seasons, guests’ requests, and activity packages. A typical day at the Klaserie River Safari Lodge includes an early breakfast followed by a guided safari drive or departing for the day’s arranged events.
