Phinda Forest Lodge:

The luxurious 16 air-conditioned glass suites at the Phinda Forest Lodge are built on stilts and appear to float between the rare Sand Forest floor and the towering torchwood trees. These exclusive suites at the Phinda Private Game Reserve have been built in a certain way to ensure absolute privacy.  The bathrooms at the Phinda Forest Lodge feature twin hand basins, bath, separate shower and separate w.c.   The suites offer a personal bar on their private veranda.   

Phinda Mountain Lodge:

The Phinda Mountain Lodge features 25 air conditioned luxurious suites each of which provides an ensuite bathroom comprising bath, shower, separate w.c. and twin hand basins.  All suites offer a sitting area, personal bar and private veranda complete with plunge pool and romantic al fresco shower. The 25 suites at the Phinda Mountain Lodge include 3 suites with a fold-out sleeper sofa in each to accomodate a triple. A family suite with four bedrooms and a shared sitting area is also available for guests.

Phinda Vlei Lodge:

At the Phinda Vlei Lodge, one can find six stilted glass and thatch suites in the rare Sand Forest.  Each suite at the Phinda Vlei Lodge provides an ensuite bathroom with twin hand basins, bath, separate shower and separate w.c. A personal bar and private plunge pools are also available in the suites of the Phinda Vlei Lodge.

Phinda Rock Lodge:

Six exceptional suites which are perched on the side of a rocky cliff are located at the Phinda Rock Lodge.  Each suite at the Phinda Rock Lodge features a spacious bedroom with bath, shower, twin hand basins and separate w.c.  

The suites provide their own private sitting area, personal bar, plunge pool and deck from where magnificent views of the spectacular Leopard Rock and the valley below can be admired.

Phinda Zuka Lodge:

The beautiful Phinda Zuka Lodge is a sole-use villa for groups of up to eight guests.  This lodge at the Phinda Private Game Reserve features only four thatched Zululand bush cottages which are situated 15 metres apart from each other, featuring verandas overlooking a busy waterhole.

Directions

From Johannesburg Phinda (Forest and Vlei)

· Take the N12 to Witbank, after which the N4 towards Middleburg is taken.
· After the Middleburg Ultra City, take the N11 turnoff to Hendrina.
· Continue along the N11 from Hendrina to Ermelo.
· From Ermelo take the N2 to Piet Retief.
· Continue on the N2 passing through Pongola, and Mkuze until you reach Hluhluwe. Take the Hluhluwe off-ramp and follow the directions into town.
· Pass through the town of Hluhluwe and at the 4th traffic circle turn left toward Sodwana Bay on the R22.
· Continue for approximately 1km and turn right on the R22 toward Sodwana Bay.
· Cross over the railway line and travel for a further 28km crossing over the Sibhicayi River. After the Phinda signboard, turn left at the intersection after the first set of rumble strips.
· Take the D675 for approximately 4km until you reach a T-Junction and fence line. At this T-Junction take the D488 to the right and continue for a further 4km with the fence line on your left hand side.
· You will arrive at the entrance to the Mun-ya-wana Game Reserve.
· The security guard at the gate will direct you to Phinda Forest and Vlei Lodges.

From Durban to Phinda (Forest and Vlei)


· Take the N2 Freeway northbound from Durban, toward Stanger, crossing over the Tugela River continuing towards Empangeni / Richards Bay.
· Staying on the N2, pass the towns of Kwambonambi and Mtubatuba, until you reach Hluhluwe. Take the “Hluhluwe/Sodwana Bay” off-ramp and follow the directions into the town.
· Pass through the town of Hluhluwe and at the 4th traffic circle turn left toward Sodwana Bay on the R22.
· Continue for approximately 1km and turn right toward on the R22 toward Sodwana Bay.
