Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve is home to over 2210 ha of prime land on the Garden Route, the Game Reserve has an abundance of wildlife and superb facilities for both day and overnight visitors.

The Plettenberg lodge offers an exciting child-friendly safari experience in a non-malaria area with an excellent opportunity of spotting four of Africa's Big Five - buffalo, lion, leopard, and rhino.

The temperate region is suitable all year round for the Game Viewing activities. During mid-summer, temperatures average about 27 ºC during the day. Winter temperatures are moderately cooler during the day but warm enough to enjoy the outdoors. The Plettenberg area does not experience the severe windy conditions common to the Eastern Cape and has an average of only four rainy days a month.

The reserve is home to over 34 different species of animals including such as rhino, giraffe, hippo, crocodiles, buffalo and a large variety of antelope. Also, there are over 100 various bird species that can be found here. The reserve is a sanctuary in the Plettenberg area for the endangered white rhino and visitors can choose to experience the Big Game Viewing in either a 4x4 vehicle or via a guided horseback safari.

This Game Reserve provides a diversity of natural materials such as; fynbos, grasslands and indigenous forests with also the natural confluence of the Keurbooms and Palmiet Rivers upon the property. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the beautiful local fauna and flora on the safari drives.

The luxury 4-star lodge, The Baroness Luxury Safari Lodge, provides guests with an exclusive African safari experience. The beautiful colonial-style Lodge features ten spacious luxury rooms which open onto the picturesque gardens with their indigenous plants, cool verandas, courtyards and lovely plunge pool.

Built from local stone, the Lodge at the Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve has lost little of its original 'out of Africa' feel and is both romantic and luxurious with magnificent views across rolling lawns where zebra and antelope roam freely, to the indigenous forests and majestic Tsitsikamma mountains in the distance.
