The Namib Desert Lodge in Namibia is located on the C 19, 60 km north of Sesriem.
The Lodge nestles at the foot of the 'fossilised' dunes of the protomorphic Namib. Located only 60 km north of Sesriem which is the gateway to famous Sossusvlei and not far from the main road, the Namib Desert Lodge is an ideal starting point for an excursion to the highest dunes in the world. Among tall trees and palms, the Namib Desert Lodge features 50 rooms en-suite, a restaurant and a swimming pool. Guests staying at this lodge are invited to explore the surrounding areas or to simply relax and enjoy the facilities of the lodge.
Guests staying at the Namib Desert Lodge, Namibia, are welcome to join a drive through the beautiful scenery or simply enjoy the thrill of gemsbok, oryx antelope and springbok, which visit the illuminated watering hole after dusk.
The main building and the chalets of the Namib Desert Lodge are spread along the foot of the 'fossilized' dunes of the ancient Namib. The restaurant and the bar of this lodge, the inviting terrace, which provides spectacular views of the fossilized dunes and two swimming pools, await the guests.
Gondwana Namib Park: Namib, Sossusvlei area, 60 km north of Sesriem
The Namib is characterized by pale green shrubs and trees located on the banks of dry rivers against the backdrop of reddish mountains of sand. In the Gondwana Namib Park, which covers 100 kmē, the 'fossilised' dunes of the ancient Namib meet the active ones of the young Namib. To the west of the Namib Desert, many spectacular dunes extend as far as the eye can see. To the east vast plains reach out to distant mountains. Visitors coming to the Namib desert in Namibia have the unique opportunity to watch solitary gemsbok, springbok and ostrich on the plains. One can drive 60 km south to visit the Sesriem Canyon and the near-by Sossusvlei with the highest dunes in the world.
