| SABI SAND GAME RESERVE / MPUMALANGA |
 |
 |
Singita Private Game Reserve is situated in the Kruger
National Park. Singita offers supreme wildlife and
safari experiences. A stay at Singita is about many
things: remarkable design, innovative food and wine
combined with exceptional hospitality.
Accommodation
Ebony Lodge : Languishing amongst the shade of
the gnarled Knobthorn and Jackalberry trees, with
the Sand River below, Singita’s Ebony Lodge is set in
a cool silence that is entirely intoxicating. Ebony is a
tribute to the vogue and muted luxury of colonial
styling, echoing a bygone age. There is a gradual
sensation that grows with you here, like the stirring
of passion. Quietly romantic, Ebony is considered
among the finest resorts in the world, not because of
the exceptional architecture, nor the cuisine or wild
setting, but because of the effect on the spirit. Waking
each morning to the sights and smells of the wild, the
vastness of Africa before you, is to feel completely
alive.
Boulders Lodge: Resting among the rocky geometry
of the Sabi Sand Reserve, Boulders lodge is an oasis
of refinement in the shimmering midday. Rough-hewn
timber, leather and stone meet thatch and wild views.
The elemental curves and luxury of contemporary
African styling dominate each suite, sparse and strong.
The décor is juxtaposed between the textures of
Africa and carefree lines of an occasional retro classic.
Lebombo Lodge: Singita Lebombo is enchantment in
a savage setting, a glimpse of wildest Africa. Rangers
say it is the largest concentration of game they have
seen in the Kruger National Park. The area is marked
by its diversity, from the leopards and lion that own
the open spaces to the herds engaged in the ebb and
flow of an archaic migration. Each creature is an
intrinsic part of a precarious cycle, from the hundreds
of species of birds to the flora and intriguing insect life.
The days and nights here are shared with the animals,
the sounds and smells of the African bush.
Sweni Lodge: Amongst some of Africa’s starkest
beauty is a place that resonates to the depths of the
soul. Set in dappled shade on the banks of the Sweni
River, six exclusive suites herald a new era in safari.
Constructed of glass, slatted wood and bleached
branches, Sweni Lodge maintains the modern lines
of Lebombo rationalised with classic lines and a
time-honoured palette.
Integration with the African outdoors through floor to
ceiling windows and a vast balcony creates a sense
of accord with the surroundings. Each interior merges
elemental curves, juxtaposed textures and unexpected
splashes of colour in eclectic harmony.
Castleton Camp: Once a private bush retreat,
Castleton Camp has opened its doors for the exclusive
use of families and small groups of up to twelve
guests. Set in the Singita Private Game Reserve in the
game rich Sabi Sand Reserve adjacent to the Kruger
National Park, the classic stone lodge with its expansive
verandah and the surrounding cottages are luxuriously
appointed in a comfortable colonial style.
Dining
Guests at Singita will encounter something truly
original: a cuisine inspired by African flavours yet
guided by the Western culinary tradition.
Complementing the menu is Singita's hidden
treasure: the best bush cellar in Africa. Buried
deep in the cool rock below Boulders, the cellar
boasts a truly unique and comprehensive cross
section of over 12,000 bottles of South African
and International wines, and Singita provides the
perfect environment in which to enjoy them.
