Elephant Activity
The interesting elephant interaction is offered at both the Baines' Camp and the Stanley's Camp in Botswana. This unique activity encompasses a leisurely walk with a trio of semi-habituated elephants, becoming personally acquainted with them, observing and interacting with them and a picnic lunch in their company. This activity takes about 4 hours and is conducted in the mornings.
Guests are invited to discover the elephants, from the bristled ends of their long tails to the tip of their powerful yet sensitive trunks. Marvel at their big ears, thoughtful eyes and enormous padded feet. Trace the textures of their skin and the silken polish of their ivory. Explore the astonishing bonds of kinship forged over more than a decade Between the elephants and their guardians in a wilderness of mesmerizing
beauty. Each of the elephants has its own personality.
Access to the Stanley's Camp, Botswana
The Stanley's camp has its own registered private airstrip (S19.37.23 E023.16.42), which is located approximately 20 minutes from the camp. Stanley's is accessible by air from Maun (15minutes), Kasane (1 hour 30 minutes) and all other delta camps. Please note the luggage restriction is 12kgs per person in a soft-sided bag. |

The Stanley's Camp is situated on a 260,000 acre private concession, bordering the southern section of the game rich Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana, Southern Africa. This region of Botswana is home to a wide variety of big game including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog.

Accommodation at Stanley's Camp
Guest accommodation at the Stanley's Camp consists of 8 classic styled safari tents. The luxuriously appointed tents exude classic Africa, they provide handcrafted beds which are dressed with the finest linen, carefully selected antique furniture and oriental carpets. Each unit provides en-suite facilities as well as a private balcony. The hammocks and the comfortable chairs on the balconies are ideal for relaxation in the African sunshine.
The main building of Stanley's Camp is raised on a deck and offers vast views over the surrounding floodplains. Stanley's Camp is carefully blended into the existing tree line of its surroundings, its main support is a large sausage tree.
Activities while in Botswana
Stanley's Camp offers the travellers a great and unforgettable game viewing experience in the Okavango Delta. Guests have the opportunity to view the rare and elusive wild dog.
The educational elephant encounter with a group of semi- habituated African elephants is available at the Stanley's Camp. Guest can spend a morning walking with the elephants to observe and interact with them in their natural environment.
Additionally, one can participate in a tranquil and scenic mokoro canoe excursion which is subject to water levels, exclusive bush dinners, as well as game drives which are customised in open-sided 4x4 safari vehicles.
As Stanley's Camp is situated in a private concession, guests also have the exclusive option of walking safaris with an armed professional guide.
