the newly refurbished, luxurious Tshukudu Bush Lodge
offers sweeping views of the malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park. Offering only a few luxury cottages,
attention to detail and personalised service is guaranteed at this exclusive lodge.
Each luxury chalet has been uniquely designed with its own private balcony offering potential sightings of
over 80 species of wild animals, including the Big Five, as well as 360 bird species.
Accommodation
You can be assured that the luxury chalets at the
Tshukudu Bush Lodge receive the personal attention
with regard to every detail. One double bed, two single beds, open plan lounge with fireplace, sunken bath overlooking the plains, shower over bath, fully stocked mini bar, bird books, magazines, plug points, hair dryer, tea/coffee making facilities and a safety deposit box are some of the features which one can find in the luxury chalets.

More information on the Tshukudu Bush Lodge
The "Place of the Rhino", which the Tshukudu Bush Lodge is referred to in the Pilanesberg, can easily been reached from Johannesburg and Pretoria in 2 hours.
Each of Tshukudu's Luxury Cottages are equipped with everything you could possibly need from walking sticks to bubble bath. Guests have a safety deposit box, mini bar, hairdryers, books and magazines as well as a tea & coffee facility at their disposal during their stay in the malaria free, Big Five Pilanesberg National Park. Slate floors and the thatched roof keep visitors cool in the hottest weather, and wood burning fires and hot water bottles keep guests warm and comfortable during those cold winter nights.
The sunken bathtubs in the Luxury Cottages have their own private view of the waterhole. What a great and unforgettable way to relax and forget the pressures of city life and to soak in the sights and the sounds of the African bush.
The professional game rangers at the Tshukudu Bush Lodge share their intimate knowledge of animals and plants, answering questions and pointing out the wonders of the wild kingdom. Guests are welcome to view the game at the water hole from the privacy of their own balcony or from the comfort of the Nest area. Or just to relax in the sun around the sheltered rock pool.
Each dish is prepared to 5 star standards at the Tshukudu Lodge. A full English brunch prepared to perfection at the end of an early morning game drive; high tea with a savory and sweet selection; sundowners under African skies; a splendid selection of wine provides the ultimate accompaniment to your six course Dinner.
Overlooking it's own waterhole, set in rolling plains that is abound with flora and fauna, the Tshukudu Bush Lodge Lodge allows the visitor a special glimpse of Africa: untouched, unspoiled, unforgettable.
Check in for the Tshukudu Lodge, Pilanesberg National Park:
Guests are greeted and met at the Bakubung Bush Lodge by 13h30 for registration from where guests are transferred to the Tshukudu Lodge at around 14h00. There is only one scheduled transfer from the Bakubung Lodge to the Tshukudu Lodge daily. Should guests not be able to be at the Bakubung Lodge at this set time, they are kindly asked to inform the lodge so that an extra transfer can be arranged.
No private vehicles are allowed at the Tshukudu Bush Lodge as this unique safari retreat is situated within the Pilanesberg National Park, a 20 minutes drive from the Bakubung Lodge. Private vehicles are parked in a secured parking at the Bakubung Lodge.
Check out from the Tshukudu Bush Lodge:
The approximate check out time is at 11h00. Guests are transferred from the Tshukudu Bush Lodge back to the Bakubung Lodge.
Due to the Tshukudu Bush Lodge being located in a very remote area and in order to be able to provide for an unforgettable stay, guests are kindly asked to provide the lodge in advance of special dietary requirements ( vegetarian, food allergies) and special requests ( honeymoon, anniversary, etc).
The Tshukudu Bush Lodge is set up in a way to provide guests with an exclusive getaway from the every day life. Radios, televisions and telephones are therefore not available. The cell phone signal at the Tshukudu Bush Lodge is very limited.
As the Lodge is not surrounded by a fence to keep the wildlife away, children under the age of 12 cannot be accommodated due to safety reasons. Tshukudu is situated majestically on a rocky outcrop from where beautiful views over the Pilanesberg National Park and the waterholes can be enjoyed. The chalets and the main building of the lodge is accessible only by 132 steps which makes this area unaccessible for disabled.
The Nest at the Tshukudu Bush Lodge, Pilanesberg:
High tea and meals are provided on the the deck, overlooking the savannah and waterhole which is weather permitting. The meals ( high tea, dinner and brunch) are included in the accommodation package offered at the Tshukudu Bush Lodge.
Game activities which are available to guest:
Guests staying at the Lodge are provided with a choice of a guided game walk or a game drive in the morning. In the evenings guided game drives are offered which take about 3 hours. Children above the age of 16 are welcome to join the game walks. The Pilanesberg National Parl is a "Big Five" Game Reserve being home to endangered Wild Dogs, Black Rhino and Cheetah.
Transfer to / from the Tshukudu Bush Lodge:
On request the lodge can conduct transfers from the Sun City Resort at 13h00 on day of arrival and between 11h00 - 12h00 on day of departure. Transfers between the
Pilanesberg Airport and the Tshukudu Lodge can be arranged at an additional charge.
Accommodation at Tshukudu:
The Tshukudu Bush Lodge can accommodate a maximum of 14 adults in the 6 Luxury Cottages.
The chalets provide the following features:
- two single sleeper beds are located in the entrance area
- the bedroom features an elevated queen size bed
- open plan lounge area with fire place
- en-suite bathroom with sunken bath
- shower over bath
- mini bar
- hairdryer
- tea and coffee facility
- safety deposit box and a balcony overlooking the savannah and waterhole.
Conference facilities:
The Tshukudu Bush Lodge in the Pilanesberg National Park offers delegates the following conference facilities:
