Exceptional Game Viewing in Botswana: KINGS POOL CAMP
Kings Pool Camp
Linyanti Wildlife Reserve in Botswana
Bordering the Chobe National Park, the Kings Pool Camp is located in the game rich Linyanti Wildlife Reserve of Botswana offering luxurious accommodation combined with spectacular wildlife sightings. Nine luxurious tents including one family unit accommodate guests in luxury and comfort during their safari stay. The Luxury Tents provide a spacious bedroom and lounge which leads onto the veranda with a private plunge pool and thatched sala.
From here the magnificent views can be admired as well as game such as elephant which cross the channel. The en-suite bathrooms feature double showers and hand-basins. Guests wishing to shower in nature may enjoy the outdoor shower.
This historic safari base in the heart of Africa’s highest density of elephants features a welcoming main area with a lounge, dining room and bar which is set on the raised deck. The outdoor swimming pool invites for a refreshing swim and tranquil afternoons. At the open-air ‘kgotla’ wonderful evening dining under the stars can be enjoyed. The camp’s sunken hide provides an extraordinary ‘elephant-at-eye-level’ view for travellers to admire.
The Linyanti Wildlife Reserve is a fantastic wildlife region with many species including a large elephant population especially during the winter months. Wild dog and leopard are also home to this region of Botswana as well as abundant antelope. Furthermore impala, lechwe, zebra, kudu, giraffe, bushbuck, buffalo and predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and spotted hyaena are also encountered here.
Due to the variety of different habitats found here, the Kings Pool Camp offers travelers unbeatable wildlife viewing on land and water. Guests enjoy exciting early morning and late afternoon game drives in the open 4×4 Land Rovers where each guest has a ‘window’ seat. During the night game drives with spotlights travellers find nocturnal animals which cannot be seen during the day. Seasonal barge cruises along the magnificent Linyanti River take place on the colonial-style Queen Sylvia barge. Birding is a paradise at Kings Pool Camp, with this region being recognized internationally as an Important Bird Area (IBA), particularly for birds of prey such as the Dickinson’s kestrel and waterbirds.
