Tucked into a peaceful curve of the Mwaleshi River, Mwaleshi Walking Camp offers an intimate and wonderfully authentic safari experience in the remote wilderness of North Luangwa. Reached by a short charter flight from Mfuwe Airport, the camp is situated around 10 kilometres upstream from where the Mwaleshi meets the Luangwa River, surrounded by vast, untouched landscapes and exceptional wildlife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This pristine region supports an extraordinary diversity of wildlife, from majestic elephants and powerful lions to kudu, Cookson\u2019s wildebeest and African wild dogs. Sightings of rhinoceros are rare but possible, adding to the sense of discovery that defines this remote wilderness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walking safaris are the heart of the Mwaleshi experience. Accompanied by highly experienced guides, guests explore the bush on foot, gaining a deeper appreciation for Africa\u2019s landscapes, tracks, plants, birds and smaller creatures that can easily be missed from a vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a day in the wilderness, return to a comfortable canvas safari tent, simply furnished with fresh cotton linen and generous mosquito netting. As night settles over the camp, drift off to the sounds of the flowing river, distant lion calls and the haunting chorus of hyenas \u2013 an unforgettable way to experience Africa in its most natural form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
