The Morukuru Lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve can accommodate six adults and four children, children of all ages are welcome. The House can accommodate four guests, no children under the age of 16 can be provided here.

Morukuru, meaning Tamboti Tree in Tswana, is an exclusively appointed bush lodge on the edge of the Marico River, under the Tamboti Trees that grow in abundance on the river banks. The forest villa is suited to private parties and families looking for the exclusive use of the lodge.

The three air-conditioned bedrooms with private decks, in this luxury bush villa, all with en-suite bathrooms connect into the central living area which consists of a vast lounge filled with rich modern details and a fireplace as a cosy finishing touch. The attractive dining room is situated in this central area fulfilling all your culinary wishes, either for a light snack or a first-class dinner.

Adjacent to the bedrooms is a family room (children's room) with a large sofa which doubles up to provide two super-size single beds should additional accommodation be required for children. The Lodge also offers the perfect setting for guests to enjoy alfresco dining on the wooden decks shaded by the impressive Tamboti trees overlooking the swimming pool area and the riverbed beyond that, where animals converge to escape the heat of the day and quench their thirst. In the evening enjoy traditional African dinners around an open fire under the stars.

Morukuru Owner's House

The Morukuru Owner's House is adjacent to Madikwe Game Reserve in the Northwest Province, near the Botswana border, with a few kilometres of Marico river frontage. This private 500 ha farm is incorporated in the Madikwe reserve so the animals can roam freely over the property. They also have a traversing right for the Madikwe Game Reserve.

The idea is that especially couples, families and friends, that want absolute privacy can rent the owner's house; named Morukuru Owner's House, an exclusive-use private bush villa, situated 50 meters from the Lodge.

The Owner's House provides guests with top class personal service with its own butler, a warm and hospitable African ambience and outstanding cuisine. Entering the House, visitors come through the design lobby for their wardrobe, adjacent one finds the great spacious lounge which is luxury furnished with modern details and a fireplace as a warm finishing touch.

A little step further, one can locate the dining room, on the left of the staircase is the wine cellar, where guests have a choice of the best wines from South Africa. The kitchen, where the private chef will prepare excellent meals, is situated just next to the dining room.

From there one can go to the library which provides guests with a collection of books CD's and DVD's, for relaxing moments, and a 42-inch flat-panel TV, the Bose home sound system and office desk and computer with wireless access to the internet is provided.

Two air-conditioned bedrooms with private decks are furnished, one facing north towards the hills with en-suite bathroom and Jacuzzi, inside rain dance shower and outside shower. The other room is facing the river with en-suite bathroom with private rain dance shower and outside shower which overlooks the 14-meter thick rim-flow pool where one can enjoy the African sun and have a long cold swim. For the ultimate romantic star experience, one has got to have an outside bath, and it is there, just next to the rim-flow on the edge of the river.

Guests will have their own private wildlife viewing vehicle and game ranger, which will offer you the flexibility of scheduling safari drives at specific times preferred by your party, although early morning and early evening safari drives are best for wildlife viewing.
