Timamoon Lodge Hazyview is a magnificent hideaway in the hills and encircled by forests of the beautiful Mpumalanga Province of South Africa.

The Timamoon boutique hotel is in proximity to the famous Kruger National Park and the spectacular Blyde River Canyon.

Timamoon features several individually decorated suites. Each of which is welcoming and comfortable making for a tranquil and relaxing stay. Each of the luxurious styled chalets is romantic and private, with a mosquito net wrapped king beds, massive fireplaces, and baths to drift away may be obtained upon request.

From the pool has endless views of the distant mountains and the valley where the Sabi River flows can be enjoyed. Expert chefs in the charming candle-lit restaurant, which is on stilts alongside a pond and overlooking a tropical garden, offers delicious cuisine. Diners may choose to end their dinner in the cigar lounge with a magical ambience.

The Thai restaurant is on stilts alongside a small pond which is perfect for those unforgettable romantic candle-lit evenings alongside a log fire. By day, the bamboo blinds are rolled up, the sun streams in, and breakfast is enjoyed overlooking the luscious tropical garden and distant hills. The two high top-class South African chefs make sure that the meals are a gourmet's delight and that every meal and every moment becomes a magical experience.

The Lodge is surrounded by many nature walks where one can spot rare trees, exotic birds such as the elusive Narina Trogon, buck, and other small African creatures. Guests are welcome to take a walk down to the Sabi River with a picnic basket, specially prepared for you by the Chef and sit in the shade on the bank and watch the bouncy Wagtails jumping from rock to rock. For a relaxing experience, guests have the opportunity to book an aromatic, full body massage in the privacy of their lodge.

Moon River Suite

The Moon River suite provides guests with exclusive luxury. Panels from India, doors from Indonesia, the four-poster Indian bed, a pebble fireplace and the etchings on the walls combine to give you a unique Timamoon experience. The sunken Moroccan style candlelit bath provides a lovely setting to celebrate romance.

Full Moon Suite

Perched at the very top of the Estate, the suite has the most beautiful views of the valley and river far below. The private stone pool and outside daybed allow guests to make the most of this magical setting. The beautiful four-poster bed, the large log fireplace, and the warm ocher colours create an enchanting setting. The perfect way to end your day is to light the candles, and incense sticks and step into this beautiful big bubble bath. The outside shower hidden in the tropical garden ensures that you never miss out on the view.

New Moon Suite

The guests' private pool in this room, is balanced on edge, provides one with stunning views of the sun setting over the valley. The unique décor with its Oriental pebble carpet, large fireplace, some very unusual artefacts and amber lighting create a magical atmosphere.

Blue Moon Suite

Tucked away and secluded, the suite offers endless views of the valley from its pool deck. The daybed hovers over the valley from where you can watch the sun go down at the end of the day. The chalet with its lovely large couch in front of the log fireplace, a mosquito draped four-poster bed, and soft lighting all exude a sweet, sensual mood which is a memorable part of the Timamoon experience.

Amber Moon Suite

Tucked away in the shade of the trees, has its private lush, sultry garden and views of the adjacent forest and banana plantations. The lounge with its large log fireplace, North African carpets and antique Indian doors creates a unique atmosphere.

Many Moon Suite

Set against the hills with the forest at its feet the room provides a private, tranquil and enjoyable experience. From this thatched lodges sunny balconies guests overlook the most beautiful rim flowing pool. Filled with antiques from travels into the Sahara giving a characteristic that is unique and gracious. An old wooden Indian window opens onto views of the forest that can be enjoyed while one bath in a candlelit bubble bath.

Activities

  • Yoga: Guests may participate in Yoga classes in a perfectly serene environment in the privacy of your lodge.
  • Horse riding: Horse riding is available in the forest surrounding the Lodge.
  • Hot air ballooning: Thrilling Hot Air Balloon rides over the lovely Sabi River valley may be obtained upon request, and these take place very early in the morning. The trip lasts about one hour and ends where the wind has brought you.

River Rafting

  • River rafting is offered each day but is subject to availability.
  • Start at 9 am, and 10 am
  • The day starts with a briefing, then onto the river.
  • Snacks and drinks are available en route
  • Finish at around 12:30, transfer back to launch site where guests have parked their cars.

Bird Watching

  • Birds such as the Lilac Breasted Roller, Narina Trogon, Purple Crested Loerie, Knysna Loerie, Woodlands Kingfisher and over a hundred other birds have been spotted and recorded by guests.
  • The Kruger National Park, God's Window, Pilgrim's Rest and the Blyde River Canyon are all nearby.
