Bush Lodge - Amakhala Game Reserve


The Amakhala lodge is 54 kilometres away from the Addo Elephant Park, 47 kilometres from Grahamstown and the Port Elizabeth Airport is an hour away. Beautifully positioned in the heart of the African bushveld at the top end of a scenic, open valley, each of the en-suite tented suites at the Lodge overlooks a waterhole. The Lodge features a total of only five luxury tents which ensures tranquillity and privacy. The safari tents provide an open deck with plunge pool, air conditioning (heating and cooling), a fireplace, as well as a large oval bath and outdoor shower.

The main lodge features a luxurious dining venue, welcoming lounge areas as well as an expansive viewing deck from where magnificent views of the plains with its wildlife can be admired. Guests spend the evenings around the crackling fireplace under the great African stars.

The guest reception at this Lodge in the Amakhala Game Reserve is at the colonial Reed Valley Inn, from where guests are transferred into the reserve to stay in the comfort and elegance of this tented accommodation. The buildings are covered with thatched roofs and feature canvas walls and wooden floors.
