The Kapama Game Reserve is in South Africa's Limpopo Province in proximity to the Kruger National Park. The park reaches from the R40 on the west to the Thornybush boundary to the east, and from the Eastgate Airport Road to the north to the Klaserie Dam on the south. The Klaserie River flows through the reserve providing an ideal habitat for leopards and other African wildlife.

The reserve is home to Africa's Big 5 which comprise lion, rhino, buffalo, leopard and elephant. The reserve's natural environment and rich veld ecosystem offer the guest the opportunity to have close encounters with all the African animals that traditionally roam this vast area of South Africa. The game reserve occupies a vast area between the northern Drakensberg mountains and the Greater Kruger National Park. It is the largest single-owner game reserve in the region and is ideally located providing access to the nearby Eastgate Airport in Hoedspruit.

The Eastgate Airport in Hoedspruit is just minutes from the Game Reserve, and the lodge offers free airport transfers in open safari vehicles direct to any of the four-game lodges. The 13 010 hectares features all the big game of Africa with 46 mammal species and approximately 354 bird species.  Game drives in reserve are conducted through the rolling savannah grasslands and riverine forests.
