Occupying an enormous area on the edge of the mountain and the more massive Kruger Park. A river flows through the Kapama Reserve and is much liked by the leopard. It is home to all the Big-Five with animals in abundance: Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Cape Buffalo, White & Black Rhino.

The Kapama Private Game Reserve covers the region from the R40 on the west to the Thornybush boundary to the east, and from the Eastgate Airport road to the north to the Klaserie Dam on the south. Klaserie River flows through the Kapama Reserve and is much liked by the leopard.
