Complete with its butler, each of the Luxury Tents reflects the glamour and style of Africa's bygone era of Kenya. It is here where guests experience a superior safari with wildlife adventures during the day blending in with romance under canvas at night.
Each of the Masai Mara lodges features tented suites which are well-appointed to make for a most comfortable and unique African safari accommodation. In the mornings, guests can step out of their safari tent onto their private veranda and observe the bush around them come to life. The en-suite bathrooms feature stone showers.
The camp is located below the location where the final scene of the famous Out of Africa movie was filmed, guests enjoy the ambience of a traditional, Kenyan safari in the Maasai Mara. Overlooking the endless savanna of the Maasai Mara, guests enjoy sweeping views of this magnificent landscape with its abundant wildlife.
The two camps at Bateleur offer nine Luxury Tents each. Antique furniture and handcrafted artefacts of bygone times are combined with comfortable sofas and leather chairs making for a welcoming and warm setting for relaxation.
Thrilling day and night safari drives lead visitors past magnificent wildlife in their natural habitat around Bateleur Camp. The most common wildlife encountered here are zebras, wildebeest, kongonis, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, leopards, black rhinos as well as crocodiles, the Thomson's gazelles, hyenas, and jackals.
For a memorable dining experience, Bateleur Camp may enjoy their breakfast in the bush which is served either on the Oloololo Escarpment or the banks of the Mara River. A spectacular Pan African meal for the bush dinner under the star-studded African sky is a not to be missed dining affair.
The various trails take camp visitors through savannah grasslands and riverine forests affording travellers an excellent opportunity to explore the wilderness on foot. The Oloololo Escarpment trail leads all the way to the top of the slope, from where the Mara game reserve and the Mara River can best be admired.
&Beyond Bateleur Camp in Kenya welcomes children of all ages. Accommodation is provided for families who wish to share their Luxury Tents. In these triple rooms, an additional bed is set up suitable for kids who are 16 years and younger.
Children who are aged twelve years and older have the opportunity to participate in the scheduled safari drives. Children under twelve may join safari drives at the lodge manager’s discretion. Children under the age of six years cannot participate in safari drives; babysitting can be booked during these safari drives and meal times. The Beyond WILD child programme offers kids exciting activities to learn about animals, flora, fauna, and cultures. Upon arrival, children are provided with an activity bag featuring a book as well as crayons, pencils and other goodies.
