The town of Hoedspruit is about an hour’s drive away from this safari camp, making it easily accessible for travellers. The main area features, under high thatched ceilings, a bar and lounge area. The outdoor swimming pool offers a welcoming refreshment during the warm summer months.
At the boma, guests enjoy unforgettable times around the campfire. This safari camp has a perimeter fence, ensuring safety from the wild at all times. To add to the authenticate nature experience, this camp does not offer electricity, cooking and water heating is done by solar and gas power.
The standard yet comfortable accommodation at Avoca sleeps six guests in double or twin-bedded chalets, each of which feature their private en-suite bathrooms. These log cabins are built beneath the trees and are located a close distance away from the main lodge area, the outdoor swimming pool, and the boma.
Guests also have the choice to book the entire camp, which can then accommodate up to 8 guests and allows for children under 12 years of age.
Usually, guests embark on an early morning safari drive. The afternoon safari drive departs at around 16h30 while the hours in between are spent at leisure at the camp. The safaris are offered during the times when predators are most active, which is early morning and late evening. During this time the air is cooler and nocturnal predators use the cover of darkness to stalk their prey.
