Bateleur Bushveld Camp, Kruger National Park

Tucked along the banks of the Mashokwe Spruit, approximately 40 km southwest of Shingwedzi, lies Bateleur Bushveld Camp - a hidden gem in the scenic northern Mopane and woodland savannah of the game rich Kruger National Park in South Africa.

Named after the striking Bateleur eagle, this charming camp is the oldest and smallest of Kruger’s bushveld camps. Its intimate size creates a tranquil atmosphere, perfect for visitors seeking privacy, immersion in nature, and superb game viewing opportunities.

One of Bateleur’s standout features is a game-viewing hide overlooking a waterhole just outside the camp — an excellent spot for watching wildlife in comfort and silence. Nearby, two exclusive dams - Silwervis and Rooibosrand - are reserved solely for Bateleur guests, ensuring a peaceful game viewing experience with no crowds, even when the camp is at capacity.
