Black Rhino Game Lodge

★ ★ ★ ★

The Black Rhino Lodge & Game Reserve is a private reserve which is incorporated into the 46 010 hectares Pilanesberg National Park. The rich veld vegetation in this area of the Pilanesberg is known to be home to a large variety of wildlife species including elephant, rhino, lion, and leopard which are often sighted, and the reserve complements the Pilanesberg predominantly mixed sour veld.

The lodge is a hidden treasure set amongst the trees of an old Tamboti forest overlooking a waterhole where guests can observe an abundance of bird and wildlife in their natural surroundings. Elephants often frequent this waterhole which is a hive of bird and animal activity. On many occasions, the stillness of the night here is broken by the roaring of lions and the Franklin sing the morning wake up call.

Early in the morning, guests may enjoy a cup of coffee followed by an adventurous safari drive with professional guides. The safari drives take guests through the reserve into the unexplored valley of the Pilanesberg until the 210km network Pilanesberg Park roads are reached.

The Black Rhino lodge boasts 14 very spacious and luxuriously appointed free-standing bedroom suites. They offer guests complete privacy and feature a minibar, air conditioning, hot beverage unit, and television. The patio doors open out into the bush from where herds of impala or a lone elephant walking by can be observed. The designer bathrooms, open out into an own private outside shower which is perfect to cool down on a hot day.

The chef at the Black Rhino caters for all exquisite meals in an atmospheric restaurant. Both the bar & the restaurant open out onto the terrace making one feel being close to nature.

The Black Rhino is on the western side of malaria-free, Pilanesberg of South Africa North West Province. The Lodge provides a beautiful bushveld getaway. The famous Sun City Resort is 32 km away from the lodge and Johannesburg; it takes about two hours to reach the lodge in the Pilanesberg.
