The Hide at the Bush House

The underground hide which borders the edge of the most active waterhole in the Madikwe Game Reserve is an exciting place to visit.

A water source is in proximity to the front opening of the hide and elephants come and drink here or walk right past the front of the hide. The roof of the hide which is set just above ground level is strongly reinforced so that it can carry the weight of any elephant that might wander across the top.

The hide can be reached from a path within the Bush House's garden as well as from the swimming pool.  Guests staying at The Bush House can safely move along the walkway and into the tunnel without being seen by the surrounding wildlife. Viewing the magnificent wildlife and the birds close up is a truly spectacular experience not to be forgotten.
