Chitabe Camp, Okavango Delta Characterized by the lush floodplains, marshland and waterways combined with the mopane woodland, a great variety of wildlife can be encountered here in their natural habitat.

The camp is located in a private concession on an island in the south-eastern region of the Okavango Delta, Botswana. 

Chitabe is a  luxurious safari camp features eight spacious Meru-style tents which are built on elevated wooden decks among the trees. Each of these classic African style tents offers twin beds, en-suite bathrooms and indoor as well as an outdoor shower.

Each of the tents offers its character which is enhanced by pristine wildlife photographs making for a comfortable place to relax and to enjoy the natural surroundings.

The welcoming thatched dining area, the bar as well as the lounge are all located in the main lodge which is built on raised decks. From here, beautiful vistas across the floodplain can be admired. The outdoor swimming pool is a great place to cool off in the heat of the day.

The unique combination of Delta and Kalahari makes for an excellent viewing place of giraffes, buffaloes, red lechwe, tsessebe, impalas and elephants. These attract the larger predators such as lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, cheetahs and wild dogs.

The exciting safari activities at the Chitabe Wilderness Camp revolve around the day and night safari drives as well as the thrilling, guided nature walks. In the open 4x4 safari vehicles, travellers experience the rich wildlife of this untamed region in Southern Africa.

The popular afternoon to evening safari drives offers the unique chance for visitors to admire the bushveld nocturnal mammals such as civet, genet and bush babies, as well as owls and, with a bit of luck, leopard. During the walking safaris with skilled guides safari enthusiasts cross big animals on foot and observe smaller creatures which inhabit this area.
