The Chobe Safari Lodge was the first lodge, built-in 1972, situated in the famous Chobe Park, and a first of it's kind in Botswana.
Chobe Safari Lodge is 105 kilometres west of the mighty Victoria Falls, overlooking the Chobe River and the Caprivi floodplains. The lodge has the only all-female guide team, who will share their intimate knowledge of the wildlife and flora of the National Park.
In 2012 the lodge was awarded the highest Ecotourism Level recognised in Botswana, and this was just the beginning of things to come. Other projects they are involved in are Biogas production, Grey Water recycling, and Recycling Plant.
The Lodge is the only permanent safari lodge within the Chobe National Park of Botswana, Southern Africa. The wide front veranda at the Lodge makes the most of the river frontage, and offers views of the river from comfortable, inviting seating areas, and every room has a balcony which faces the river, so one gets to enjoy hours of spectacular views, and the magnificent sounds of the area.
The Lodge recently built a boardwalk where you can find your favourite spot and watch the ever-changing wildlife parade across the river, islands, the floodplains, and even as far as Namibia.
Accommodation at the lodge, which overlooks the river, comprises of 42 twin/double rooms, four luxury private suites, and one family unit. The rooms are all river-facing, with spacious decks and air-conditioning, and provide amenities such as minibars, en-suite bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities.
There are seven inter-leading rooms, which are ideal for friends and families travelling together. There are no televisions in any of the chambers, ensured of making one enjoy the tranquillity of the surroundings, the birds and wildlife. The four exclusive suites offer their plunge pools and separate lounges.
Delicious meals at Chobe lodge are served at the terrace restaurant of the main lodge while new themed BBQs are regularly available at the authentic African boma which lies beautifully on the Chobe River’s grassy banks. Breakfast is prepared and enjoyed on the deck, the perfect place to warm up in the morning sunlight, after a crisp early morning safari drive.
Your dining experience could be anything from a delicious stir-fry, roast or carvery to a mouth-watering three-course a la carte menu. Regularly dinners are served under the stars at the riverside boma, and the lodge makes full use of the deck which is lit up by candlelight which adds to a very romantic, relaxing venue to enjoy your evening meals.
