The Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge is in Nkuringo, Southern Bwindi of Uganda, East Africa.

Gorilla Lodge is set high on the Nteko Ridge, above the Impenetrable Bwindi Forest which is home to the rare mountain gorillas, this luxury retreat offers travellers a great base from which to explore the magnificent National Park

Operated to benefit both the community who lives here as well as the conservation programme for the gorilla, access to this remote wilderness retreat is by scheduled flight into Kisoro followed by a road transfer to the Lodge. Guests can also drive to the Lodge direct.

The eight stone cottages at Uganda's Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge are built of the volcanic rock which is found in this area. The rooms feature spacious and private lounge areas with fireplace. For additional comfort and luxury, the bedrooms feature a fireplace as well. The outdoor patios provide breathtaking views over the Virungas. Two of these well-appointed cottages are ideal for families travelling with children as they offer two separate en-suite bedrooms and a shared lounge.

Comfortable sofas welcome guests in the cosy lounge of the lodge which makes an ideal place for relaxation, enjoying refreshing beverages and socialising. Various dining areas allow guests to savour the delicious retreat's meals. Wireless Internet and personal butler service are available. This unique accommodation in close walking distance to the trail from where tracking the Nkuringo gorilla family, which is the largest and friendliest of Bwindi’s accessible troops, is possible.

To ensure minimal intrusion on the wildlife's habitat and lives here, guests who participate in the gorilla trekking experience are limited to one hour with an ape family. This lodge welcomes children of all ages. However, kids under the age of 15 years cannot participate in the gorilla trekking experience.

The guided forest walks bring alive the fascinating facts of rain forests. With the assistance of some of the best birding guides in Uganda, travellers may identify more than 350 species of birds.
