The Desert Homestead Lodge is located in a private nature reserve 30km South-East of Sesriem and in close proximity to the entrance of the Namib-Naukluft-Nationalpark in Namibia. It is an ideal venue for tours to Sossusvlei or a tranquil place to rest. Individual thatched roofed cottages are styled to reflect the African vicinity.
A cosy main lodge will greet you with a relaxing lounge area, a restaurant with well-trained chefs and well presented and tasty food, a swimming pool and a garden with a partly shaded sun-deck alongside loungers to chill-out on during the heat of the day.
Watch the creatures of the Namib desert from the privacy of your cottage, or opt to take a hike with an experienced guide. See the desert from a ride on a hot-air balloon alongside other tour options arranged on request.
The lodge prides itself on the beautiful horse safaris through the Namib Desert, designed for both experienced riders and beginners guided by experienced riding instructors. Tours of one or two days are available including all meals. The night spent in a tent camp under the starlit sky of the Namibian desert.
The reserve is adjacent to the Unesco World Heritage site “Namib Sand Sea” which is unique due to it being the only coastal desert in the world which includes dune fields shaped by fog.
