Classic Tanzania Safari guided and fully inclusive 8 Day Safari Journey through Tanzania in East Africa and explore its magnificent wildlife in the Serengeti and the Tarangire National Park.
Day 1: Arusha: Overnight: Sanctuary Swala
When arriving at the Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania, East Africa, you will be transferred to your preferred hotel. Accommodation is at the famous Arusha Coffee Lodge which is set on a coffee plantation just outside of Arusha.
Designed similar to the original ranch houses and completely renovated to provide the highest standards, the décor of this hotel is luxurious and stylish. Each of the 18 plantation houses has been lavishly furnished and features a split level living area and a private deck. This lodge also offers a coffee shop, patisserie and a swimming pool.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park: Overnight: Arusha Coffee Lodge
Early this morning you will be transferred to the Arusha airstrip for your flight to the Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, you will be taken to the lodge of your choice or Sanctuary Swala.
At Sanctuary Swala, each of the luxury tents is shaded by tall acacia trees and ancient baobabs and is within sight of the well-frequented waterhole. Due to the camp's secluded location, guests are unlikely to see many vehicles as they explore the national park.
Day 3: Tarangire National Park: Overnight: Sanctuary Swala
Awake to the sounds of the untamed African bush as a delicious hot cup of tea or coffee is offered on your tent's deck. Guests have the choice to sleep in and to enjoy the magnificent surroundings or to explore the park on an early morning safari drive before returning to camp for a refreshing drink and lunch. In the afternoon you have the opportunity to examine the Tarangire on the afternoon safari drive.
The beauty of Tarangire presents itself as you venture out into the baobab scattered landscape. During the dry season, the concentration of wildlife in the Tarangire is second only to the Serengeti ecosystem. Return to camp to freshen up before meeting around the campfire for a pre-dinner drink as you discuss the day's adventures.
Day 4: Manyara / Ngorongoro Crater: Overnight: Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Manyara. The guide will meet you at the airfield and transport you to the camp, approximately a 35-minute drive with wildlife viewing en route. Ngorongoro Crater Camp is in Tanzania's Ngorongoro Conservation Area, on the crater rim.
There are ten luxury safari tents. Each custom-made walk-in tent is spacious and complete with en-suite bathroom, flush toilet, shower and hot water available throughout the day. Each tent provides a room safe, hairdryer and mosquito nets. There are three main area tents: a dining tent, lounge, and bar and lounge tent.
Day 5: Manyara / Ngorongoro Crater: Overnight: Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp
Awaken early this morning to a warm cup of tea or coffee served on the veranda of your tent. After a hearty breakfast, you can enjoy the activities on offer: Safari drives with English speaking driver/guide in Ngorongoro crater and on the rim, and a Masai village visit and bush meals. Enjoy wildlife viewing with the spectacular backdrop of the crater wall at every turn. This vast caldera is home to around 32,000 animals with a high number of predators.
Zebra & Wildebeest account for 50 % of the animals with plenty of Gazelles, Buffalo, Hartebeest, Warthog & Elephants. On the crater lake, you will see a multitude of flamingos.
On your return to camp, you will have time for a hot shower followed pre-dinner drinks by the campfire as you discuss the day's adventures.
Day 6: Serengeti: Overnight: Sanctuary Kusini
This morning transfer back to Manyara airstrip for your onward flight to the Serengeti departing at 0915, flying time is approximately 1 hour. Upon arrival, travellers are met by a Sanctuary Kusini representative and transferred to the camp. Driving time to lodge is 30 minutes through the Serengeti with wildlife viewing en route.
Accommodation is offered in twelve double tents which are scattered around the main kopje. Private verandas with comfortable furnishings extend in front of each unit where your tent attendant will bring you tea and coffee so you can relax and enjoy your peaceful surroundings. Following dinner this evening retire to the kopje where you may take this rare opportunity to stars as the camp manager unravels the myths of the night sky.
Day 7: Serengeti: Overnight: Sanctuary Kusini
Today you may choose to either take part in a full day safari drive into the heart of the Serengeti with a picnic lunch or remain close to the lodge with morning and afternoon safari drives. The area around Sanctuary Kusini is famous for its cheetah.
While at Sanctuary Kusini guests have the chance to contribute to cheetah conservation through the Serengeti Cheetah Project. On a cheetah watch drive, learn how to identify cheetah with the use of field ID kits and how to monitor their behaviour.
This evening returns to camp and climbs to the top of the kopje for stunning views of the Serengeti. Relax with your preferred drink as you watch the setting sun paint the Serengeti with pinks, oranges and reds.
Day 8: Enjoy a leisurely morning relaxing at the lodge or enjoy another early morning safari drive before transferring to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Kilimanjaro via Arusha. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro connect with your onward flight.
