Ichingo Chobe River Lodge, on Impalila Island in Namibia, a wonderful place to explore all that the Chobe offers. Positioned inbetween the four countries of Namibia, Botswana Zambia and Zimbabwe, the Ichingo River Lodge is on the Namibian side of the river, 100km upstream of Victoria Falls.

Watch the Take the Zambezi River excursion along the Kasai Channel, a small, beautiful waterway filled with a variety of birds, the occasional hippo and spectacular views of the Caprivi floodplains. Meander on the boat along the Chobe ending up in the famous Zambezi River. If fishing takes your fancy, enjoy the experience of catching, on a release basis, the Tiger-fish and Bream fish; certainly one of the most famous of African fish!

Guided Walks on Impalila Island give you a peek into the local life of inhabitants and shows off the beauty of the vicinity and is sure to astound you with the enormity of the Baobab trees. The endpoint of the walk is to the ancient (over 2000 years old) Baobab tree which the more energetic can climb up to see where Zambia, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe meet, and then see where the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers merge. On the day of your departure is a vehicle-based safari drive also included in the programme. The Chobe National Park is sure to enter your heart!

Accommodation is in eight spacious air-conditioned Meru safari-style tents, each beautifully created each with its own private balcony overlooking the picturesque Chobe rapids and each having an en-suite bathroom.

One larger family tent unit is available which is designed for a family with a double/twin be bed and up to four children sleeping on bunk beds and has two bathrooms.

The main Lodge includes a comfortable relaxing lounge, a welcoming homely bar and a separate open-air dining space. With large trees and flowing waters providing a secluded, personalized and calm environment in which to completely relax and enjoy a true African river experience.

Being located at the most Easterly tip of the Caprivi in Namibia, on Impalila Island just where the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers both merge creating an ideal spot for those wanting to visit the Chobe National Park or the Victoria Falls region.

Kasane is the nearest small town which is in Northern Botswana, close to where you will cross over the river to the Island, and Victoria Falls is 100 kilometres downstream. Kasane has a Barclays Bank, a First National Bank, a Stanbic and Standard Chartered Bank with ATM facility.

You will be collected from the Kasane Immigration office which is positioned on the Chobe River, Kasane, Botswana at a pre-designated time and will then be taken by tender boat via Namibian Immigration post on Impalila Island to the lodge which all adds to the excitement of arriving at Ichingo Chobe River Lodge!
