The Jamila Safari Lodge is in the spectacular wilderness of malaria-free, big five Welgevonden Reserve of South Africa's Limpopo Province.
In the Waterberg mountains filled with all of the African wildlife and unspoilt African bush. The Jamila lodge offers guests a warm, relaxed atmosphere with all the amenities of a five-star lodge safari experience. The Lodge has five beautifully appointed chalets which can accommodate a maximum of 12 guests at a time.
A delicious feast of flavours completes the dining experience which is served in different locations every night. Under an open African sky, guests dine on the main deck or in lamplight alongside the gently illuminated waterhole. Guests can round off their break by enjoying an excellent supper in the outdoor Boma. Daily high tea is at the central lodge area overlooking the pool and nearby waterhole.
Two safari drives daily are conducted by the experienced game ranger who shares his exceptional knowledge of the animals living in the Welgevonden Game Reserve. Thrilling safari drives are an absolute highlight for guests. A close-by waterhole offers excitement throughout the day where a variety of animals quench their daily thirsts.
The Welgevonden Game Reserve is a real piece of wilderness situated in the heart of the Waterberg, just north of Johannesburg in South Africa's Limpopo Province. The Welgevonden Game Reserve stretches over 35 000 hectares of unspoilt, malaria-free bushveld and is home to over 50 different mammals including the Big Five.
The reserve is home to one of the largest populations of white rhino on a private reserve anywhere in Africa and boasts over 250 bird species, including rare blue cranes. There are unusual species as well, such as brown hyena, aardwolf and aardvark. The grassy plains thrive with antelope and cheetah, lion and leopard are always not too far away. Its high altitude, temperate climate and the fact that it is malaria-free make it worth a visit all year round.
