Game Drives

Game drives at Pioneer Camp are led by passionate and highly experienced rangers and trackers whose combined expertise exceeds 350 years. With over 16,000 hectares of wilderness to traverse, each drive is entirely unique.

Trackers sit at the front of the Land Rover, reading the earth for fresh spoor, while rangers navigate rugged ravines and dense thickets with precision and skill. Their storytelling and deep ecological knowledge transform each encounter into something unforgettable.

The safari tradition has evolved from its origins as a hunting pursuit. Today, rifles have been replaced with cameras, and the only “shooting” is photographic. Rangers specialise in positioning vehicles for optimal lighting and perspective, offering guidance so guests can capture extraordinary images of wildlife, birds, and landscapes.
