The Mackouwkuil Safari Lodge & Conference Venue nestles in the scenic Waterberg region of the Limpopo Province, South Africa.

Mackouwkuil with its many dams, its various animal species and winding rivers, the Mackouwkuil reserve are a hidden getaway treasure which can be reached from Johannesburg in about a three hours drive. Surrounded by other reserves, this one 200-hectare property is malaria-free. 

The main lodge has lush lawns which reach to the water's edge. The Luxury Tents and Guest Rooms are scattered amongst the wild thicket providing a beautiful setting for a relaxed stay, away from urban life. The lodge offers various accommodation options which include the exclusive Luxury Tents, the Chalets and the rooms in the Guest Houses.

Luxury Tents: The lodge's great Luxury Tents (Kudu Tents and Hippo Tents) feature their decks offering spectacular vistas. A short walk away from the main lodge; the Luxury Tents are connected via walkways to the rock pool as well as to the fire pit areas. Twin beds well equipped and comfortable tents provide air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms while offering the luxury of outdoor showers.

Guest Rooms: The thatched guest rooms and luxury rooms are set behind the main lodge and provide African wooden beds, writing desks and comfortable chairs. Also, the luxury rooms offer bar fridges while all rooms are equipped with their coffee stations.

Set between a dam and a scenic ridge, the main lodge provides welcoming and comfortable gathering venues including the family-style dining room complete with a fireplace where delicious meals are served. The garden area hosts the large, outdoor swimming pool which offers refreshment during the warm summer days. In the evenings, guests enjoy storytelling in the boma and the lap on the water around a crackling campfire.

The game rangers share their in-depth knowledge of the reserve's wildlife as well as its flora and fauna. Amongst many other free-roaming animals, the reserve is home to buffaloes, giraffes, golden wildebeest, kudus, impalas, eland, waterbuck, as well as crocodiles, hippos and bushbuck.

With a bit of luck, guests can also observe the resident leopard and her cub at the river which runs through the reserve. The popular nature walks allow guests to get closer to nature by walking through the bush among the safer species of animals. Guests are welcome to bring their fishing equipment and enjoy 'catch and release' fishing around the dams. The dams are home to Bass, Tilapia and other local fish species.

Presentations, product launches, as well as lectures, can be hosted in the two conference venues one of which can accommodate 35 delegates and the other 70 delegates. The marquee tent, which is beautifully situated next to the water, can cater to about 120-day guests.

The lodge's fibre-optic network connects all rooms as well as the conference, entertainment and accommodation areas. The Internet is available via a dedicated tower, providing the lodge with exceptional Wi-Fi internet speed while major cellular reception is available at this destination.
