Masuwe Lodge, in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe is surrounded by stunning natural African wildlife on a large private concession bordering one of the many Zimbabwean National Parks in the area, offering luxury safari accommodation and experiences just a quick seven kilometres drive from the many possible adventures of Victoria Falls.
Masuwe Lodge originally opened in 1994, the flagship lodge of Landela Safaris and one of the first bush lodges at the famous Falls. For the last 16 years, Masuwe has been either leased to other safari operators or closed and attended by caretakers. In April 2017 Masuwe Lodge was re-opened after a total rebuild and refurbishment. The recent opening of the surrounding fence ensures a steady flow of elephants and other local African wildlife to the adjacent waterhole right below a wooden viewing deck in the bar and restaurant area, perfect for special sightings whilst you sip your evening drinks. New pathways link the rooms through the highly established gardens; the glittering stone in the original swimming pool sparkles again ready to cool you after your many safari experiences.
The old decks have been replaced, as have the old green safari tents now all replaced with spacious sand-coloured canvas, allowing for a light-filled space with modern luxuries creating Masuwe Lodge as a dream safari destination – combining bush and wildlife with the Zambezi River. The rooms named after the birds that make this dream spot their home, expect to be gently woken to the beautiful sounds of their song.
A blend of all-inclusive hospitality along with the freedom of exploring the local African craft markets. If you love the idea of white-water rafting or a beautiful evening sundowner cruise along the Zambezi River, time shopping in the curio stores by day yet returning to the magical sounds smells and timeless sunsets; you are sure to enjoy the modern safari experience with welcoming hospitality, arrive as guests, leave as friends.
The nine Wilderness Tents combine both thatch and canvas with an attached local stonebuilt bathroom (a shower, vanity and toilet) and a front deck with comfortable cosy seating and views of the natural bushland where wildlife roams, perfect for enjoying a glass as the sunsets. Wonderful comfortable king-sized (or twin) beds are draped with top-quality cotton bed linen and canopied with mosquito netting. With double the floor space and a spacious decked area, ideal for romantic getaways and honeymooners.
