Muluwa Lodge White River enjoys a magnificent location near the town of White River in proximity to the wildlife-rich Kruger National Park of South Africa.
The Muluwa Lodge, White River reserve is home to many animals, including giraffe, warthogs and nyala and over 302 bird species.
The word “Muluwa” translates as "Flame Thorn” in Shangaan, a local indigenous language, and is significant to its close connection with the lodge's natural surroundings.
The lodge is an 11-minute drive away from the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and only 21 minutes from Nelspruit. It lies near the Kruger National Park, the stunning beaches of Mozambique and the scenic Blyde River Canyon.
Muluwa comprises two Luxury Suites and eight Executive Suites all of which provide convenient amenities to ensure a most comfortable stay.
The Luxury Suites are built at either end of the lodge and ensure privacy for guests looking for something more secluded. Each Luxury room has one king-size bed with 100% cotton linen. The lounge is separate and has a gas fireplace to chase away the cold in the winter months. The bathrooms have jet stream showers and an oversized bathtub. Outside is an outdoor shower and a heated plunge pool that is perfect to relax in after a long afternoon in the bush.
The Executive Rooms all have an en-suite bathroom and a separate lounge area. They have a large wooden deck that is the perfect spot to sit for avid bird watchers, and it has a private outdoor shower. A sleeper couch can be arranged for younger guests who are staying at the lodge.
The conference centre at Likweti is on the thatched roof of the Pezulu Room. The centre features glass fold-away doors that lead off to a wooden deck. It is perfect for tea and coffee breaks, and lunch is often served under the trees, next to the pool.
The lodge has three outdoor wedding venues: on the banks of the incredible Fish Eagle Dam, under the Wild Fig Tree or at the top of the dam, which is across from the Pezulu Reception Room. The thatch-roofed reception room has fold-away glass doors that allow the beautiful view of the landscape to become part of your décor.
