Nestled high above the landscape and built atop an ancient anthill, Nambu Camp is situated in the heart of the Greater Kruger, within the Olifants West Nature Reserve. This intimate safari retreat, consisting of just six luxury chalets, offers sweeping views of a winding dry riverbed, a lively waterhole, and the distant Drakensberg Mountain range. The lodge’s open and unique design perfectly frames the breathtaking wilderness that surrounds it.
The Nambu Camp has been a cherished part of the Drinkwater family for nearly four decades, passed down through generations. The name Nambu means "river" in the local IsiThonga language, reflecting the deep connection this unique lodge has to the nearby Olifants River. Tawny eagles glide overhead, while herds of elephants gather at the river below our hilltop retreat.
Eager to share their slice of paradise with the world, the Drinkwater family created Nambu Camp. The camp features six luxury chalets—four offering sweeping views of the surrounding wilderness, and two overlooking tranquil gardens (chalets three and five).
During the warm afternoons, guests can unwind by the camp’s pool or enjoy birdwatching from the expansive viewing platform before savoring a mid-day brunch at the main camp. Two game drives are offered daily, taking advantage of the early morning and late afternoon light.
From morning coffee breaks to sundowner stops with snacks, Nambu prides itself on going the extra mile to ensure exceptional hospitality.
