The great Namib Desert Lodge in Namibia, Southern Africa, is located on the C 19, 60 km north of Sesriem. This unique safari lodge nestles at the foot of the 'fossilised' dunes of the protomorphic Namib.
Situated close to Sesriem, which is the gateway to famous Sossusvlei, the Lodge offers travellers an ideal starting point for an excursion to the highest dunes in the world.

The main building and the chalets are spread along the foot of the 'fossilised' dunes of the ancient Namib. The restaurant and the bar as well as the open terrace, which provides spectacular views of the fossilised dunes and two swimming pools, await the guests.

The Namib is characterised by pale green shrubs and trees located on the banks of dry rivers against the backdrop of red mountains of sand. In the Gondwana Namib Park, which covers 100 km², the 'fossilised' dunes of the ancient Namib meet the active ones of the young Namib.
To the west of this Desert in Southern Africa, many amazing dunes extend as far as the eye can see. To the east, vast plains reach out to distant mountains. Visitors have the unique opportunity to watch solitary gemsbok, springbok and ostrich on the plains. One can drive 60 km south to visit the Sesriem Canyon and close by Sossusvlei, which is home to one of the highest dunes in the world.
