The Pelo Camp is located in the heart of the Jao Concession in the Okavango Delta of Botswana. The five safari tents provide en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers.
The Pelo Camp is open annually from 1 March to 30 November (subject to change). The word 'Pelo' in the Setswana language means ‘heart’. This name has been chosen as the island on which the camp is located is heart-shaped.
This intimate Wilderness safari camp in Botswana features five spacious tents which provide lovely views over the surrounding water. Travellers may take a walk on one of the low sandy islands and learn about the River Bushman way of life in this region.
Pelo guests glide seamlessly along the waterways in a traditional dugout canoe, a mokoro, to best enjoy the abundance of water-loving wildlife and birds. From the boat, one can enjoy good wildlife viewing in the channels of the Delta further away.
