This amazingly beautiful and unique safari Saruni lodge nestles just over a 1.5 hours’ drive away from the sister lodge Saruni Samburu. The lodge is situated in the 350,000 hectares-large Sera Conservancy which lies in the undiscovered and wild Northern region of Kenya, East Africa. 

The Safari Lodge in Kenya offers the first rhino tracking experience in East Africa. Guests have the unique chance to join an unforgettable walking safari which offers a thrilling safari adventure. 

It allows guests to actively contribute to the protection of Rhino. This vast wilderness region is home to large herds of elephants while a great variety of birdlife can also be observed here. Saruni Rhino Lodge offers 3 different room types which consist of Banda 1, 2 and 3. Each of these uniquely designed rooms offers convenient amenities and features to make for an extraordinary wildlife experience.

Banda 1 is This room type is an open stone cottage which can accommodate between two to four guests in one double bed with the possibility of adding 1-2 single beds. It features a bathroom and natural stone shower and a flushing toilet which is accessed directly from the room. It is an open plan in style with no room divider so more than 2 guests sharing will need to feel comfortable in the open-plan space. A beautiful private sandy terrace offers chairs and tables overlooking the dry river bed.

Banda 2 is a stone cottage accommodated two guests in one double bed. The en-suite bathroom and natural stone shower, as well as the flushing toilet, are situated within the banda. The private sandy terrace offers chairs and tables from where views over the dry river bed can be admired. A nearby tree bed offers guests additional relaxation space.

Banda 3 is a The family stone cottage consists of two double bedrooms sleeping four guests (configuration can be arranged as 2 x doubles or 1 x double and 2 x singles based on the requirement, a third single can be added on a case by case basis). Both rooms offer en-suite bathrooms and natural stone showers with flushing toilets. A shared lounge provides a cool retreat from the large stone verandah which also has outside seating and tables and has the best view of the waterhole directly in front.

Saruni Lodges offers a most thrilling wildlife experience in the untamed African bushveld, namely tracking the Black Rhino. During this exciting walking safari, visitors track black rhino on foot, accompanied by a professional Saruni guide and a highly-trained Sera Community Conservancy ranger, who is equipped with a transmitter correlating to the GPS whereabouts of the 11 rhinos throughout the 54,000 hectares-large sanctuary.

Coming across the rhino in such close distance for the first time is not only heart beating, pulse racing while curiosity and excitement mount. Following close encounters with rhinos, the conservancy offers additional plentiful wildlife opportunities and experiences which include exciting safari drives to spot the Samburu specials (oryx, gerenuk, ostrich, Grevy’s Zebra, reticulated giraffe), buffalo, elephants, antelope and a plethora of birdlife.
