Serian’s Serengeti South in Tanzania, East Africa, is a mobile camp set up in the southernmost region of the Serengeti’s short-grass plain offering fantastic wildlife viewing from mid-December to May. It is in this area where travellers can spectate the wildebeest birthing season.
These vast plains of Africa come to life for this annual occasion. Thousands of zebra and gnus are home to this landscape in search of fresh green grass which follows the first rains. The preferred access by plane to the Serian's Serengeti South Luxury Camp is the Mwiba airstrip.
Within three to four weeks, more than 1.4 million wildebeest give birth to more than 350 100 calves making for a most fantastic wildlife spectacle. Predators are attracted to this region during the breeding season feasting on this easy prey.
Serian’s Serengeti South Camp reflects a natural balance between colonial camping style, comfort and elegant accents. The six Luxury Tents are spacious and well-appointed with tasteful décor. The en-suite bathrooms provide a bucket shower as well as a flushing toilet.
