Day 1
On arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport travelers are met by a representative from The Safari Collection and taken to Giraffe Manor. Guests meet the resident Rothchild’s giraffes during their stay at The Giraffe Manor who roam the grounds of the sanctuary surrounding this classic manor house. Although wild, the giraffes enjoy being fed by guest making this an amazing experience.
After lunch guests have the opportunity to visit the Giraffe Centre located within the Manor’s grounds or take a trip to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and see orphaned elephants and rhinoceros. The Karen Blixen Museum offers a glimpse into the life of the author of the infamous book “Out of Africa” and en-route you will have a chance to purchase gifts from local designers and artisans.
Day 2 and 3
After an unforgettable breakfast with the giraffes at Nairobi's Giraffe Manor, guests are transferred to the Wilson Airport for a 1hr 20min flight to Samburu. On arrival we will be transferred to Sasaab in time for lunch.
The hilly landscape in the Samburu land, which lies in the north of Kenya, is unique and different to the country's other regions. It is here where one encounters the Samburu Special Five which include the Grevy’s zebra, the reticulated giraffe, the Somali ostrich, gerenuk and Beisa oryx. Guests are offered a glimpse into the interesting Samburu life and may learn about their traditions and culture.
The wild can be explored, fly camping outdoors is also available, and guests have the chance to take a ride on a camel through the wilderness or relax at the luxurious spa. Overnight at the luxurious Sasaab Lodge.
Day 4 and 5
From the Sasaab airstrip, it is a 20min private charter flight to the beautiful Solio Lodge. Home to large numbers of plains game, rhino and lion, wildlife is easy to admire from here. Black and white rhinoceros are home on the Game Reserve who live along side the big cats, other wildlife and indigenous birds. Guests may enjoy horse riding, trekking and trout fishing in the Aberdare National Park. Breathtaking views of Mount Kenya from the lodge or a helicopter await.
Day 6 and 7
An authentic safari experience await travellers at the Sala's Camp, with friendliness, hospitality and fine dining. From the Solio Lodge, travellers are transferred to the Nanyuki Airport in order to catch the scheduled flight to the Masai Mara where Sala’s Camp awaits, with a safari drive along the way.
It is here where guests explore the magnificent Masai Mara National Park. The safari drives are usually arranged early in the morning and late in the evening to capture the animals during their most active time. Travelers may enjoy a bush lunch and venture further into the Mara to explore the wildlife in the most remote corners.
Back at the Sala's Camp, travellers may take local walks, play volleyball or simply relax and enjoy the view from the hammock outside their tent. The not to be missed evening drives are accompanied by sun-downers which are the perfect ending to a lovely day in the bush.
Day 8
After a delicious breakfast at Sala’s Camp, travelers catch a flight from the Masai Mara to Nairobi Wilson Airport. Guests are meet at the Wilson Airport and transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for their flight home.
