Itinerary

  • Day 1: Giraffe Manor, Nairobi
  • Day 2/3/4: Sasaab Camp, Samburu
  • Day 5/6: Solio Lodge, Solio.

Day 1

When arriving at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Kenya, guests are met by a representative from The Safari Collection and driven to The Giraffe Manor. It is here where travellers meet the wild, resident giraffes which roam the grounds of this magnificent estate.

After lunch, we recommend a visit to the Giraffe Centre which is located on the same grounds or take a trip to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and see orphaned elephants and rhinoceros. The Karen Blixen Museum offers a view into the life of the author of the infamous book “Out of Africa”.

Day 2, 3 and 4

The next morning, after an enchanting breakfast with the giraffes at Giraffe Manor, guests are transferred to Wilson Airport for a 1hr 20min flight to Samburu. On arrival guests enjoy lunch at the Sasaab Camp. The hilly terrain in the Samburu region which lies in the north of Kenya is home to a different variety of flora and fauna which lies ready to explored on thrilling safari drives.

These include the Samburu Special Five – Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk and Beisa oryx. Enjoy a glimpse into Samburu life, learning about the local traditions and culture. Furthermore, travelers may explore the wild, fly camp outdoors, take a ride on a camel through the wilderness or relax at the camp's luxurious spa.

Day 5 and 6

From the Sasaab airstri,p travelers are taken on a 20 minute private charter flight to the Solio Airstrip. On arrival, they will be transferred to the exclusive Solio Lodge, which is the only lodge in the Solio Conservancy. Solio Lodge provides plenty of exciting activities. Here guests may enjoy horse riding, trekking and trout fishing in the Aberdare National Park and admire the fantastic views of Mount Kenya from the lodge or a helicopter. It is here where large numbers of black and white rhinoceros are found on the Game Reserve who live alongside the big cats, other wildlife and indigenous exotic birds.

Day 7

After a delicious safari breakfast at the Solio Lodge, guests are taken on a short flight back to Nairobi in time for their international flight home from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
