This region of Botswana is situated on a private concession neighbouring the Moremi and is, therefore, ideal for viewing all animal and bird species. This luxurious safari lodge is named after the famed nineteenth-century explorer and artist, Thomas Baines.
The camp has five suites set on elevated platforms with wooden decks, offering stunning views over the permanent water of the Boro River.
This particular region of Botswana is situated on a private concession neighbouring the Moremi and is, therefore, superb for viewing all animal and bird species. Guests may explore the wild animal kingdom by land and water.
The permanent water of the camp reveals a world of floating safaris, at the gentle pace of a poled dug-out canoe. Guests can also choose the alternative of a faster comfortable shaded motorboat, which is subject to water levels. Many waterways, feathery beds of papyrus, small animals are waiting to be discovered by the adventurous traveller.
Walking safaris are also offered to guests staying at the camp with skilled, armed guides introducing Botswana's natural wonders. Furthermore, guests have the unique opportunity to participate in an educational elephant interaction.
The lodge has its registered private airstrip (S19.37.23 E023.16.42), which is approximately 45 - 60 minutes from the camp depending on the water level in the delta. The camp is accessible by air from Maun (about 15minutes), Kasane (about 1 hour 30 minutes) and all other delta fields. Please note the luggage restriction is 12kgs per person in a soft-sided bag.
