Suggested 6-Night Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival at Jumbo Junction
Arrive by charter aircraft before transferring to Jumbo Junction, where you'll meet your horse and safari guides. Enjoy a relaxed introductory ride to become familiar with your horse and the unique riding conditions of the Delta. The evening is spent around the campfire, enjoying delicious cuisine and preparing for the adventure ahead.
Day 2 – Riding into the Delta
After breakfast, depart on your first full-day horseback safari, travelling deep into the Okavango Delta through floodplains, waterways, and open wilderness. Stop beneath shady trees for brunch before continuing to your first mobile bush camp. End the day with a spectacular sunset over the wetlands followed by dinner around the campfire.
Day 3 – Discover the Wetlands
Begin the morning with another memorable horseback ride through the Delta's diverse landscapes before returning to camp for brunch and some time to unwind. In the afternoon, explore the waterways by traditional mokoro or enjoy a guided game drive, ending the day with sundowners surrounded by the beauty of the African wilderness.
Day 4 – Journey to Camp Two
Ride through remote wilderness as you make your way to a second mobile bush camp. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch and time to relax before setting out on a guided nature walk or afternoon game drive. Spend another magical evening beneath a canopy of stars in the heart of the Delta.
Day 5 – Wildlife & Adventure
After an early morning ride, return to camp for lunch and a leisurely siesta during the warmest part of the day. Later, venture out on a game drive in search of the Delta's abundant wildlife before returning for dinner and a peaceful evening around the fire.
Day 6 – Return to Jumbo Junction
Enjoy a full-day horseback journey back towards Jumbo Junction, pausing beneath the trees for brunch along the way. At the picturesque Selinda Spillway, exchange your horse for a scenic boat cruise before completing the journey with a game drive back to camp. Celebrate your final evening with excellent food, great company, and unforgettable safari memories.
Day 7 – Departure
Depending on your departure time, enjoy one final Delta activity, such as a peaceful mokoro excursion or guided bush walk, before breakfast. Bid farewell to your horse, guides, and the extraordinary Okavango Delta as you transfer for your onward flight.
