Characterful Accommodation

Each chalet accommodates two guests, while one chalet can accommodate a family of up to two adults and two children with the addition of bunk beds.

Getting There

Hidden in the northern reaches of Hwange National Park, Hideaways Bumbusi Wilderness Camp enjoys a truly remote setting within an extensive 80,000-hectare private concession. The secluded location ensures an exclusive safari atmosphere, far from the crowds.

Guests can access the camp by light aircraft, helicopter, road transfer or self-drive, depending on their itinerary and preferred style of travel.

When to Visit

The prime safari season runs from July to October, when cooler, drier conditions concentrate wildlife around the available water sources. With thinner vegetation, game is also generally easier to spot.

July to September brings warm days, typically in the mid-20s°C, while evenings and early mornings can be considerably cooler, sometimes falling below 10°C.

For bird enthusiasts, November to April is an excellent time to visit, when migratory species join Hwange’s resident birdlife. These months are warmer, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, and occasional rain transforms the landscape into a lush and vibrant wilderness.
