The Welgevonden Private Game Reserve was founded in 1987 and constitutes farmland that has been reclaimed for wildlife conservation. The reserve has been extensively re-stocked with numerous species including lion, elephant, rhino, and cheetah. There are various antelope species and a diverse birdlife to be found in the rolling bushveld terrain.
Clifftop accommodation is provided in 8 luxuriously appointed suites that are positioned for privacy and boast spectacular views of the valley and mountains beyond. Each suite has a private plunge pool and viewing deck from which you may see various wildlife species down below. Guests may request massage treatments performed by a qualified massage therapist in the comfort of their suite.
The delicious meals are served in the lodge's welcoming dining room where beverages are also available to guests. Fine wines can be selected from Clifftop Lodge's unique wine cellar. Exciting safari drives are available in the early morning and the late afternoon when wildlife encounters are at its best in the 'Big Five' Welgevonden Game Reserve.
